An attractive edition
Normally when I review a book, I'm writing primarily about the contents. That seems like a pointless exercise when it comes to a Bible. To religious people, it would seem blasphemous, and even to non-religious people, it would seem at least unnecessary. Similarly, I don't really feel the need to comment on the translation. While one might seek to review a new translation, the King James Version has been around long enough that we all know what we're getting.Rather, I should comment on this particular publication. First of all, it has a rather attractive exterior with a black "Leathersoft" cover. I should note that Leathersoft is a sort of bonded leather made by combining leather scraps with polyurethane, so it's not quite the same as being "truly" leather bound, but it's a good way to get a cover that looks and feels "mostly" like leather at a more affordable price. The binding is such that it's easy to open the book flat on a table, and it comes with two ribbons bound into the book. It's advertised as being a large print edition. I'll admit that usually I think of large print as being slightly larger than the text is in this book. However, Bibles are of such length that some compromises have to be made, and I can say that the text is as large here as I've seen in any Bible, presented in two columns with abbreviated notes (in smaller type in a center column.Tables, indices, and appendices at the back of the book make for easy reference. At the end of the day, there are many Bible translations to choose from and many editions of the more popular translations like the KJV. But if this is the translation you like, this is certainly a worthy publication and you won't regret your purchase.

Very Nice KJV Reference Bible
While there are a lot of Bible translations available, I would say the most widespread English translation is the King James Version (KJV) and is the one that most have used for memorization. Though the KJV is a little harder to read because of the formal language the richness and beauty of the KJV make it a worthwhile asset in one's personal library. This is a good copy of it - compact and easy on the eyes. This is a large print edition so the font is bigger which makes it easier on my eyes. While I have decent eyesight, many readers (and in particular older readers) need a larger print for reading, and this is a good sized font that meets half-way between readability and keeping the overall volume small. The cover is not genuine leather but it is a leather-like material that reminds me of vinyl, though it's tougher than that. It has a rugged feel to it and it should hold up nicely under normal wear conditions. The pages are gold-gilded which is nice, though in time that will wear off. This is a reference Bible, which means it just presents the Scripture without a lot of notes, devotional material, study aids or any extra stuff. As is typical with KJV Bibles, it does have the cross references in the center. It does have a few extras that expand its usefulness, though. It includes a list of miracles that Jesus performed, a year-long reading plan, a list of Jesus' parables and where to find them, a good concordance, and several very nice full-color maps.If you like the KJV or want a nice edition that is easy to read and doesn't clutter with a lot of extra stuff. this is a nice volume. It's attractive, the font makes reading easier, and it does have a few extras at the back that add to the overall volume.

Nice, medium-sized KJV Bible
I think medium sized bibles are the best size. Too large and it becomes cumbersome to handle, too small and the words can be difficult to read. This bible is medium sized, and the words are very easy to read. From the product description, this is accomplished by having both “large print” and using “Thomas Nelson’s exclusive KJV Comfort Print type”. After testing this out, I do believe this font to be very readable. I like it. As far as the rest of the bible, everything seems well made. It’s not as high quality as a 100% top grain leather bible, but it’s a great deal nicer than a “gift” bible. The cover is thick and sturdy; and the pages are smooth and thin like you would expect a bible to have at this price point. The only thing I would change would be to use a slightly heavier paper weight. It would make the bible a little thicker, but I think that would be a good compromise in order to have pages that were a little sturdier, more durable, and didn’t allow as much of the “see though” effect. Overall though, this is still a bible that I would recommend. It has good quality, good features, and good size.
