Star Trek: Discovery - The Complete Series [Blu-Ray]

This set contains all of the episodes (plus extra features) for the entire five seasons of Star Trek: Discovery. The shipment arrived promptly (even sooner than the estimated date!) and in excellent condition. For those who enjoy Star Trek series and want to own this particular one on DVD, these Blue-Ray disks are well worth the price. One small quibble is that the case stacks two or three disks on a single hub, which makes it harder to take one of them out to play, which is a minor annoyance.

Better than great. Loved the series and hated to see it end.

For my Star Trek DVD cases on DS9 and Voyager, I noticed the case was causing stress cracks on the spindle hole of the discs. Unfortunately these “full season / full show” cases do not appear designed with the longevity of the discs in mind. On those DVD cases I was able to just take out the disc holders and use felt sleeves for the discs. It’s much easier to work with, and much easier on the discs! Plus I still have the outer artwork of the case.This blu-ray set was more challenging because of the welded disc holders on each end of the case, as well as one of the posts the inner disc holders attach to. I was able to cut off the ones on the rear of the case as shown in the photos. After this the discs sit pretty nicely in felt sleeves that I provided. I never have to “bend a disc in half” to get it out of the case ever again! :)On my DVDs I used some masking tape to create a book binding edge of sorts to keep the felt sleeves as one unit. I may do the same here.The case was surprisingly hard to cut through. Be careful! Heating the exacto knife helped a little. I put a cutting surface in between the outer backing and the inner while cutting, to ensure I didn’t cut through to the outer plastic that protects the paper insert.I really hope companies get the message soon about proper disc holders for longevity: How hard it is on the disc (and the user!) to take them on and off the spindle needs to be part of the consideration for long-term disc storage.The ones used on the Star Trek TNG UK box set should be the model for all the really large sets: Compact (no excessive space wasted in between discs), holds the disc well, and is easy to get the disc on and off. Also no stacking of discs where one must be removed to access the other. I wish all these box sets were like that one.

I have been a "Treker", "Trekkie", since the first episode on a Capehardt Television. This is an awesome series from production to screen to big screen. Episodes are well planned, well executed and very professionaly presented. I am very impressed with all the seasons. I have ordered Deep Space Nine to complete my collection. You can't go wrong with this purchase!!

I've never seen a protagonist like Michael Burnham, or a cast of characters quite like this one. It took my breath away, reinterpreting the mythology in a way I felt fresh and vibrant. Star Trek purists, however (like my husband) may not like some of these reinterpretations. I, however, was drawn into this particular Star Trek series; due to the diversity, the acting, and the marvelous relationship between Michael Burnham and Phillipa Georgiou in all its variations.

That the show is interesting futuristic and great characters

I loved this series. I'm excited to go through the special features and get the scoop on the behind the scenes.

Superbly produced extension of the series, which so far, seems endless...kinda like the universe!
