Manufacturer's Description Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Anthology is the ultimate collectors edition, featuring the original Dawn of War, its two expansion packs - Winter Assault and Dark Crusade - and more.Dawn of War:Ten thousand years have passed since the treasonous acts of Chaos toppled the Golden Age of mankind. Fires burn brightly throughout the galaxies, illuminating carnage and slaughter as mankind defends itself from ancient enemies. Hardened forces collide with one goal in mind, the complete extermination of their opposition. Control one of four unique races in head-to-head or cooperative multiplayer action, where faith, skill, and strategy are requisites in ruling the universes.Winter Assault:The expansion pack to the award winning Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War will build upon the most exciting, visceral, front-line battlefield ever seen in an RTS game. Lost amongst the ruins of a leveled city lies an Emperor Class Titan, a war vessel of untold power forged in the planet-wide furnaces of Mars, and revered by billions as the epitome of Imperial dominance. The one who controls it will command the power to destroy, or defend, a world. The Imperials will summon it to overcome great evil, Chaos will corrupt it for their own designs, Orks will destroy it in their bloodlust and Eldar will disregard it in their arrogance.Dark Crusade:Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade will feature two new playable races, the Tau Empire and the Necrons, bringing the number of totally unique races to an unprecedented seven. In addition to the two new playable races, Dark Crusade will feature an all-new single player campaign centering on the conquest of a "meta-map," with each territory captured giving tangible rewards to the occupying force. A greatly expanded multiplayer component and a completely unique economy model for the Necrons will present gamers with the most compelling Dawn of War game to-date.

Brilliant
As an RTS, this game stands tall. The races are truly different to one another. Rather than being the same kinda thing, albeit in a different colour, or just having an extra tank or two. They're different to the core. Each has their own troop types, own buildings, and way of playing.Simply building up then "zerging" the enemy is rarely the way to go here, there's true tactical advantage to taking and holding territory early on. Distracting the enemy with a feint assault to draw troops away from a ture objective can pay dividends too. And its important to use the right unit for the right task, some are specialised in taking down troops, tanks, or buildings. To fans of GW's 40K, this game stands tall in this aspect too. The forces are evocative of their imagery in their codex. And indeed if played according to that imagery you'll do well. The imagery is well supported by the mechanics of that army, the way they use resources, power, gain additional abilities. To those that have previously been unaware of Games Workshops array of games but enjoy one or more of the armies, it might be worth checking out what Games Workshop has to offer elsewhere. With Dark Crusade, the campaign takes a new direction. Previously the campaigns were scripted affairs. With Dark Crusade you are presented with a map of the world split up into territories. You choose which to select, which will in turn bestow various benefits such as honour guard units or quirky boosts to your overall performance. There are cut scenes and objectives inserted into those special territories whichI play this most days. The solo campaign, and the online skirmishes with friends. After months, it hasn't got old yet. I'm just about to order a copy for a friend that for some reason has remained immune to my frothing about it.

Not bad, and very fun. For a while.
This was an action heavy (not much base-building/defense) RTS and was a lot of fun for awhile. However, after the final expansion (Soul Storm) came out, support for this compilation (i.e. Dawn of War games up to an including Dark Crusade) dropped off.Much fun to be had multipler or even the odd skirmish. Not very good single-player design. Not much longevity. Not bad price now, since it is no longer the latest Dawn of War "pack".

Best RTS ever
This game is the best RTS you will play thus far. It immerses you into huge battles and provides great graphics and camera movement (The camera movement is the smoothest and best around). All forces are nicely weight up so that any faction can win a battle.I personally play the imperial guard lots online especially, and to counter a previous review you need ogryn to protect you men when in tight spots (they are also in the books). This is why the game is perfectly balanced.Event when not playing online it is thoroughly enjoyable as the skirmishes can keep you happy for month, even years in my case. The game is much better than most other strategies as it attaches you to your units, therefore you want to protect them and give them the best change possible. The only other competitor in my mind is Company Of Heroes which is also created by THQ.A Supremely perfect game, and a must have for all RTS gamers. Go for it!!!!
