Swarfega Swarfega Oil & Grease Remover 2L

Did not do the job it supposed to do

I hate to say this as I had high hopes for such a big brand name product. My car had sadly been leaking PAS (Power Assisted Steering) fluid on my drive so I obviously wanted something to clean the mess up, especially as the the nice block driveway cost £1,000s . I should point out that the bricks are not the usual red ones, but bigger , thicker, various sizes and in grey shades and has a rustic look with worn type edges.....This SWARFEGA drive way cleaner FAILED to work. it hardly moved it despite following instructions to the T ! So I can only assume the PAS fluid will NOT be shifted. It makes me wonder now if it will work on oil?!Probably shouldn't be saying this but I DID FIND A SOLUTION!! I used 'ARIEL STAIN REMOVER' Powder!! Yes, laundry powder! IT WORKED! I sprinkled powder on the marks, put a tiny bit of water with it to make it into a paste , then scrubbed with a nail brush. Let it dry for a few hours then went back with hot water and scrubbed again with finally washing off with cold water. Repeated process two to three times and the stubborn stains have virtually gone!!!!! Got some of this idea off the internet! Wish I had seen and tried before buying this Swarfega. Hope this helps!

Having used Swarfega many times years ago when I was in the motor trade, I had no hesitation in seeking it out to clean-up the engine compartments etc of a couple of classic cars I had purchased. Whilst I must admit that the product still works effectively, I missed it in the 'gel' form it used to be years ago. When in this gel form it clung onto the pieces that it was used on rather than just run off, it would be great to see it return to that format. Having made that criticism though, it still did the trick and I would recommend it.

This is a brilliant degreaser if a little pricey. It does a great job. I haven't found a better degreaser.

Used 5L for cleaning up 2+Litres of automatic gearbox oil spread over drive and road as I dragged container under car after refilling very carefully ;-( First mopped up 'puddles' with newspaper and kitchen roll, then sprinkled this stuff down, scrubbed with plastic garden broom, waited 20 minutes, then hosed down whilst scrubbing towards gutter, and hey presto. Almost all gone! This stuff works (at least for Honda automatic gearbox oil).
