Did not slice my sourdough. Hard to use and slid around the counter. Returned it

I was torn between this one and the expensive German bread slicer. I’m pleasantly surprised how well this slices bread, and it’s very sturdy. Especially great are the suction cups, they literally hold this slicer in place even on a wooden cutting board! I don’t usually write reviews, but this slicer was worth every penny since I bake a lot of sourdough and it’s really great at cutting that!

Blade wobbles causing consistent, uneven cuts. base has suction cups, which is good for sticking it down, but does nothing for lateral motion. It slides right across the table. You need to put something behind it to stop it but then the base is too short for example lIf you put it up against the wall, you’re knuckles hit the wall when you try to turn the cut wheel. Please please please buy something different.

The slicer is a simple device that is supposed to last for year, that means it should work without any trouble. However, the slicer came with loose base, cutting blade and handle, the little adjustment for the thickness of the slice was not holding in place. Considering high price and high expectations this item was a big disappointment. I have decided to return this item on the arrival date.

Looks can be desciving. This thing is poop. Doesn't cut straight and the handle came stripped. Don't waste your money.
