These are the best tongue brushes I have used, and I have tried many variations. They allow you to thoroughly clean the entire tongue with very little, if any gag reflex. A great find at a great price.

I've always used very firm toothbrushes to scrub my tongue while brushing my teeth. Lately, it has been hard to find the really firm ones. So, I've had to settle for medium firmness, which is just okay in my opinion. I don't find the metal or plastic tongue scrapers to do the job as well. And the plastic or rubber ridges on the back of fancier toothbrushes are pretty much useless to me. I prefer bristles. This tongue cleaning brush is the closest thing I can find to a very firm, flat surface toothbrush. However, it's not actually as firm! In fact, I compared it to my medium firm toothbrush; and they're pretty much the same. After comparing them (with my hands), I was skeptical that I'd actually like this thing. But I gave it a shot and found it to be perfect. The fact that the bristles on this tongue cleaner are less than half the length of a regular toothbrush is what gives it a little more strength. Basically, the bristles are flexible enough that you don't have to worry about scouring down your tongue to the point of it being painful. You have total control over the pressure you use to scrub your tongue. I've found that you can scrub pretty gently and still get a better tongue cleaning than vigorously using a medium firm toothbrush. The wider and flatter head are great. I can cover more surface area, and the flat profile helps me reach further back on my tongue without gagging. The flatness makes it way easier to get the sides far back on my tongue, which has always been an issue for me. I've found I need to brush my tongue a little bit differently with these compared to a regular toothbrush. It's actually easier, but uses a bit more water. I can simply reach far back on my tongue and drag the brush forward. Then rinse the brush head and repeat. It's not quite as necessary to do any crazy scrubbing motions due to the size, shape, and firmness of the bristles. The most important thing is just getting the gunk off your tongue and not spreading it around. I've always had a pretty set dental hygiene routine that includes flossing at night (though, I skip this part sometimes) and thoroughly cleaning my tongue at night... and giving it a light scrub in the morning or whenever I brush my teeth throughout the day. I've only had 1 tiny cavity in my entire life... after the age of 30. I've always felt brushing my tongue, the roof of my mouth, and my gums were equally as important as brushing my teeth and along my gum line. (I just use a soft bristle toothbrush for areas besides my tongue.) I'd definitely recommend these tongue brushes, and I would buy them again. I think I got a great deal for a pack of 6. You have to keep them clean and replace thwm like you would a normal toothbrush. Also, don't be surprised by the packaging. I initially thought I was mistakenly sent regular, childrens toothbrushes. The packaging was confusing.

this tongue brush does the job but a little too harsh on the tongue compared to other tongue brush bristles

I prefer these over tongue scrapers, they are a little rough at first you kinda have to build up getting used to them. They clean great and they last a long time.
