Slim, sleek for CDs and DVDs
It came with all necessary cords. Easy to set up, works well with my older stereo receiver. Theres a remote for all of the features. There’s three buttons on the unit to open/close the tray, play/pause discs, and power on/off. Easy to use the buttons but you need the remote to skip tracks or skip scenes.I’ve mostly been using for CDs so far. I like that it’s small and I might order a second one to just keep at the TV.

YES, IT PLAYS CD's WELL
I have been struggling with a 20 year old Sony 200 disc carousel CD player for a few years now, cleaning and re cleaning CDs, using a "lens cleaner" disc, etc, etc, with marginal results. So, I decided to use the Sony to store and catalog 200 discs for accesss and but a single disc player. Unfortunately, as most find out, audio component CD players are absurdly expensive and VERY overpriced. I was about to pay more than $200 for one until I explored the option of buying a DVD player that plays CDs. I was skeptical, but recognized that the market for DVD players is declining as fast as the market for CD players did. I bought this one, paying about $30 from Warehouse Deals. I plugged it in, connected the audio out jacks and MAGIC. Not only did it play the discs but coupled with my Yamaha CD direct and pure sound receiver, it played them far better than the Sony ever did. Unless you are in need of a player which can read the most expensive discs, do not hesitate to buy this one. Panasonic is a great company and has pride in nearly everything they produce (with the exception of their sketchy history on bluetooth earphones), and this simple, inexpensive device is no different. If you need a component CD player and want to save some money to apply to speakers or a receiver, etc, do not hesitate. Try it. I predict you will like it.

More bang for your buck than anything else in this price range
I looked at alot of DVD players and was disappointed in most of what I saw. Some went straight to the video instead of to the menu, some had an audio lag, some were painfully slow to start, and some had unintuitive remote controls. I was especially disappointed with all of the Sony DVD players I looked at. For this and other products Sony has really gone downhill. This Panasonic player loads quickly, sets up easily, opens the menu, the remote has alot of buttons but it is easy to learn, it doesn't generate heat, and basically it does everything it is supposed to do better than many other brands. It does upconvert, not all the way to 1080 (none of them do due to the original quality of the recording), but the picture is better than I expected and there are no artifacts like in other upconverting DVD players. It works through my eARC connections (when I turn the DVD player on my TV also turns on and selects the correct HDMI port on my TV, plus it turns my soundbar on in the correct sound mode), and my TV adds some additional upconversion. It should note that I have a newer 4K TV and I use certified 8K HDMI cables. Since this is installed in an enclosed cabinet, I installed an IR repeater with an outside the cabinet sensor and this player and remote control have no problem with IR response at all.I am very happy with the quality and operation, specially given the price of this DVD player.

Perfect!!!
originally bought this for my 7 year old, as the old one wore out. I was a little worried about the dvd tray, but it has been several months now since getting it and my son using it and it has not been an issue. The DVD player is great, sound is good, picture is great, and although there are several ways to connect it to the tv, I did use an HDMI cable to get the best possible sound and picture. Its much easier to use an HDMI cable with one plug at each end than using a RCA cable with 3 plugs on each end, and the quality is much much better.I had seen reviews that didn't recommend it for a small child as it wasn't very sturdy or durable, well if you are going to be using for a frisbee, probably not. But, for it to sit beside the tv and DVDs inserted and taken out, I think it very sturdy. I took the time to show my 7 year old how to use the remote, even though there are buttons on the unit itself, how to take out, and insert a DVD into the unit. We haven't had a problem and I am very satisfied with this purchase, and if needed i would purchase again!!!

Extra value for MY money
With more than 4k reviews any paltry little thing I say isn't going to matter much to you, I expect. Regardless our Panasonic DVD Player with Dolby Digital Sound came in today and I hooked it up using an HDMI cable and the little rascal is working just fine. The remote is a tad bit more simple and better than my last players. So happens I ordered a 'damaged' unit for an extra savings. I could find no damage either on the box in it. Everything was dandy new and fine.We don't do DVD but once a year around Christmas, usually for my Xmas DVD's. Let's see if my Panasonic DVD Player with Dolby Digital Sound is still cranking next year.

Choose Another Brand!
I have to give this one a low review. One it doesn't come with the cord needed to go in back of your TV so either have one or go but one. Two is really the reason why. It's the worst DVD player I've ever owned. It takes a long time to load and start playing. Also each time you want to put in a DVD even if playing more than 1 DVD, if you want closed captioning you have to select it. You basically are restarting everything each time you want to hit play. If you hit pause or replay/ fast fwd too many times it will tell you the DVD cannot be Read or it will say No DVD when there is clearly one in there. The remote is small and the buttons are too close so if you select the wrong button you're likely to start the DVD over... That's if you can get it to play again. Honestly I have DVD/ VHS combination that is 21 years old. It plays way better than this one. Quality today is down the drain. The manufacturer should be giving this one away for free. Don't waste your money. This is a true review. I still have time to return mine and I think I just have to.
