Clairol Color Crave Semi-Permanent Hair Dye, Indigo Hair Color, 1 Count (Pack of 3)

I have medium blonde hair and enjoy changing it up with semi-permanent hair color. I've tried a few fun colors with products like Punky Color and Overtone but they did nothing. This color is awesome (I've always loved Clairol's semi-permanent dyes)! I have medium length hair with a VERY full scalp (lots of very fine hair). One tube got me colored but if I wanted a more vibrant purple, I'd need one and a half or two for better saturation. As it is, the lighter parts of my hair toward the front are more violet while other parts that were darker and harder to saturate turned kind of an ashy purply brown that's still very pretty. I will definitely be using this again! My only complaint is that the tube is kind of stiff making it difficult to get that last bit of product out so be methodical when squeezing.

I have dark brown hair with some balayage highlights and the Flamingo pink turned out amazing! I was surprised how vibrant it was considering my hair isn't very light. It's been 2 weeks and so far the color is fading nicely. Only problem is the color will get EVERYWHERE if you aren't careful. Acetone/nail polish remover worked well to remove it from my sink/tub.

Didn’t really run or bleed onto anything and produced great color on my daughter’s brown hair. She washed it once and the color held fast. However, then she went to the beach and swam for about a hour in the lake and it COMPLETELY came out! And it has been over a week after we dyed it. I mean not a drop of blue left in her hair. Total waste. So definitely don’t go swimming at ALL unless you don’t want your hair dyed anymore.

I was really excited to use this product. I ordered the color Orchid and planned to color my hair for the last week of school. I have blonde hair, so I didn’t need to lighten it to get the shade that I was looking for. But my hair never turned out orchid, or any shade on the box. The attached picture is of my hair two days after coloring, and it’s easy to see that there is barely any shade of orchid in it. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed.

A bit disappointed. Easy to use and the color was way better than I imagined with my daughters brunette hair. BUT It said it would stay in for 15 washes.... it washed out after 1. Now she’s begging for me to do it again and again. I was hoping for it to last longer like it claims.

I had naturally blonde hair prior to using this and it lasted about 6 weeks, fading obviously over time but I still had visible light pink streaks for at least 6 weeks. I used coconut oil to protect my skin from staining around the hairlines, and otherwise followed instructions on the box. It seemed bright so I rinsed outside with the hose in the grass. The picture posted is after drying on the day I dyed it. It did fade after a few weeks but I loved the color all through the fading.

Vibrant color! I was scared to book a salon appointment and spend tons of money to do a bright color so I thought I would give this Orchid color a try instead. It was super easy to apply- put on gloves, squeeze into a cup, jar, or the palm of your hand, and apply. The intense electric blue/purple color faded within a week, but I could still see hints of it for quite awhile. I applied on un-dyed hair that has natural blond highlights so that is where the color varied on its own. Just tried Rose Gold today, it was much more subtle and very pretty in its own right! Very pleased with these products. Will be buying more colors now!!

I did the full 30 min curing time and was left with patchy, incomplete dye job. Had to do it again and left it in for about 40 mins, and finally was left with decent - but not fully acceptable - results. The hair was fully bleached up to the roots. Only the bleached part shows a dye job (the color is cool, but I highly doubt it will last through a wash or two, so I'm not getting excited). The very roots & bit of my bangs that got caught up in all this did NOT get dyed. I mean, it's powder blue at best, just almost invisible, and you're looking at my natural hair here so you know it should show up on blonde. If you have hair any darker than mine and don't plan to bleach first, consider other products. I'm looking for something to replace the clairol flare me permanent dyes that they have discontinued, apparently, and this is not going to be my new go-to.

I have not tried ORCHID color yet, this is the reason i give it only a 3. I have used Crave Lavender for almost a year now and It is just a choice of color, Orchid should look almost like Lavender before it pales to a light lavender after 12 shampoos. Orchid according to the package should fade to what Lavender is before shampoo. I will love it.
