Good windows 11 notebook.
Perfect replacement for my old notebook pc. Nice USB-C V2 connector. I can do very fast backups to it. Backlit keyboard is nice and bright. Good performance. Starts up very fast.

Warning: it does NOT have a BACKLIGHT
The first thing I did was do a search on this product page fora backlight and up popped a review saying it had a backlight. I always buy Dells so I hit the buy button. When it arrived I tried to turn on the backlight but nothing worked yet I still believed what the review had said. So I tried for HOURS to get it to work. Impossible, of course. In the process I also discovered that the computer was extremely slow and updating it bogged down, took hours and then didn't fully update. I searched for info on how to turn on the backlight back when I still believed there was one and ended up on a site that locked my computer and insisted I not try to turn it off because that could result in identity theft and they gave a phone number to call. Oh sure. I'd never call. It was all a scam and I don't know why my Malwarebytes didn't block that site. Anyway, that did it. I packaged it up and sent it back to Amazon despite my personal info on the computer that I couldn't remove because of the scam site locking the computer. Horrible experience. Went to a local store, bought another model Dell, one with a backlight,, and it's working great. I hope Amazon refunds me for the one that became a brick.

I likes it! Great bang for your buck... But shoulda came w/16GB ddr5. Only came with 8gb ram
I love this laptop. I mean what else is there to say, it's a dell. The one thing I will say, for the price that I paid it should have come with at least 16 GB installed RAM. Instead, it had 8gb ram. But, we get what we paid for. The quality is awesome, the battery life is decent, it doesn't weigh that much, and it actually runs multiple programs quite fast for only 8 GB. I guess it's the ddr5 that keeps it running fast. I recently just ordered two dual 16 GB RAM sticks. Once I get those, it will accompany my needs for music editing, video and photo editing. It's a great laptop!

Excellent Performance and Premium Feel in a Compact Laptop
I’ve been using the Dell Inspiron 5440 for a while now, and it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. The 14-inch 16:10 FHD+ display (1920×1200) is a big highlight — sharp, bright, and very comfortable for long work sessions. The extra vertical space compared to standard 16:9 screens makes a real difference for productivity. Performance is smooth and fast thanks to the Intel Core 7-150U processor paired with 16GB DDR5 RAM. Multitasking, browsing with many tabs, office work, light creative tasks, and even some light coding all run effortlessly. The 1TB SSD is a great bonus — very fast boot times and plenty of storage without worrying about space. Build quality feels solid and premium, especially in the Carbon Black finish. It looks elegant and professional, suitable for both work and personal use. The keyboard is comfortable for typing, and the trackpad is responsive and accurate. While this laptop uses Intel integrated graphics, it’s perfectly fine for everyday use, media consumption, and light photo editing. It’s not meant for heavy gaming or advanced graphic work, but that’s expected in this category. Battery life is reliable for a full workday with normal usage, and having Windows 11 Home preinstalled is convenient. Dell’s onsite service adds extra peace of mind. Pros: • Sharp and productive 16:10 display • Fast and efficient performance • 16GB DDR5 RAM + 1TB SSD is excellent value • Premium design and solid build quality • Reliable battery life and onsite support Cons: • Not designed for gaming or heavy graphics tasks Overall, this is a well-balanced, powerful, and stylish laptop that’s ideal for professionals, students, and anyone who wants speed, reliability, and quality in a compact form factor. Highly recommended.

Great laptop.
Great machine. Super-fast, and a tbyte ssd. I teach, and it is more than adequate. Also, you generally can't beat a Dell with a strong Intel processor. I would suggest not getting one with an AMD processor. The display is very sharp. Colors are true.

Acceptable bargain
I bought 8GB RAM version of laptop. Windows 11 Home consumes 70% of RAM. With only VPN and Antivirus running - the Memory usage is 85-95%. Basically, you can hardly do any serious work. The discount which they offer is similar to the cost of additional 8GB of RAM. (be sure to get DDR5 slot). It does not have backlight, in oppose to description. The battery supports 4-5 hours of almost idle performance. I have not heard almost any sound from it, even within 3 hours of the initial Windows updates. Antivirus have not found any threats on my item. I general - this item is an acceptable bargain for the price. The crap comes from the unwanted Windows features which cannot be disabled or removed. I will update my review when I install additional 8GB RAM. Swim at your own risk... Well, I did install additional 8GB RAM and now it works normally. With 16GB RAM this laptop deserves 4, maybe 5 stars. But the item in initial configuration needs RAM upgrade. I bought this RAM: 8GB Compatible Memory for Dell Inspiron 14 5440 (DDR5 Version ONLY) 1Rx16 SODIMM 4800MHz RAM Brand: parts-quick Or from link (if link works for you): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4XDVG3T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title During RAM installation I followed DELL recommendations: Before RAM installation: - Unplug all cables (first of all - power supply) - Press and hold "B" and "Power" to put PC into "Maintenance mode" - Wait for screen directions, followed by 3 loud beeps After RAM installation: - Connect power cable. PC will not turn on after "Maintenance mode" without power cable connected.

The Dell laptop is a solid piece of equipment and operates well. The Dell assistance that was supposed to be available to transfer from old laptop to this one never happened. The transfere took a lot longer as a result.

EXCELENT LAPTOP, THANK YOU DELL

Name brand laptop with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. We bought this to replace an aging Microsoft Surface Pro whose OS was beyond its service life. Existing files and settings transferred easily via wifi. We needed a laptop with Windows 11 Pro rather than the Home edition and most other laptops on offer came with the Home version. In effect, this is a business/student laptop with more ports than the thinner models.

I'm sure the product was okay its the service that was not the greatest. I was looking for help on how to transfer files from my old computer to the new one. I WAS ON THE PHONE FOR A GOOD HOUR (OR MORE) BEING TRANSFERRED TO VARIOUS PEOPLE PROPABLY 5 IN ALL AND WHEN I HUNG UP I WAS NO FURTHER AHEAD -WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. I purchased this item with the thought that i would receive the same level of great service from dell that I received when i purchased my last dell computer-they were so helpful. Even though my warranty indicated that the migrate software was included (this is the software that downloads the files from your old computer to the new one)Dell would not recognize it and wanted $50.00 to give it to me and I still wasnt sure if they were going to assist me.
