Practice safe charging - block data
They work great! we use them in a car which gets confused as to which phone to talk to when both are plugged in -it's easier than going through the menus to change phones. It's also good to use when plugging into an unknown USB to charge - it makes sure that your phone isn't compromised either accidentally or on purpose.

Data blockers
These are as advertised. They work flawlessly and are plug and play. Great little added protection.

Please please please Protect your Personal Data!
Not only are these ADORABLE, but nowadays they can be a life-saver in a pinch. Keep a few in your bag or purse so that they are with you when you travel. They are so small in fact, I wouldn't doubt if some folks could keep one in their wallet comfortably. If you fly a lot you should absolutely invest in these. Public chargers, while convenient, are a breeding ground for malicious hacking activity. When you plug your phone into something, it could potentially be transferring your data as well! These adapters prevent that, essentially dumbing down the cable so that it can only pass power through, not any data. This allows you to get the charge you want without the risk of data theft. If you are smart enough to not plug into those public chargers and instead carry your own, these are still handy for troubleshooting, or even to loan out to the person sitting next to you if they are unaware of the dangers posed. Ultimately I will be buying more of these to keep on hand for this purpose.

Use ONLY USB C-to-C type cables or charge rates will suffer SUBSTANTIALLY !!!
Samsung S21 series phones only charge at 25 watts maximum despite using higher wattage chargers. With my phone set on standard charge rate (15 watts) and set to 80% max charge to retain battery longevity per Samsung recommendation, I used Samsung's standard charger with its USB-A to USB-C cable. I plugged the USB-C cable end into the data-blocker device and inserted it into my phone jack. My phone then displayed a message to check my charge cable (or something like that), then showed my current 53% battery level and a time of "2 hrs,13 min" to reach 80%. I waited a minute to see if the estimated time would actually change, which did. Extremely slow charge rate just as the listing description stated it would if not using a USB C-to-C cable. To test for a faster charge rate, I swapped my charge components for those with only USB-C connections and reinstalled the data-blocker device into my phone jack. Sure enough, phone now displays "30 min" to reach 80% (starting at 53%). [Update, 3/17/25] Tried using the USB-C ports in a rental car, using the same Samsung phone and charging cable as mentioned previously, with a 47% battery status. The displayed charging time showed "2 hrs, 34 min", yet displaying only "38 min" when plugging into a Samsung USB-C, 25 watt power adapter just minutes later in my home. I even experimented with flipping and rotating the cable / connector insertions, including the data-blocker, and experienced no changes in displayed charge times. Bottom line: The data-blocker device CAN facilitate quick charging as claimed, as long as all USB-C components are up to task. Disclaimer: I did not try plugging directly into the rental car's USB-C connector without the data-blocker device for obvious reasons, so I don't know what charging times would be displayed for comparison purposes vs my power adapter.

Works and highly visible.
Works as expected. Red makes them easy to distinguish. Used to charge phone from a laptop and prevent sharing data.

Didn't work for me
Didn't work. My phone charged at a trickle compared to the regular charging speed - about 25% of the regular speed.

Good Protection for your computer and ipad
After reading several articles about protecting your phone and ipad at an airport or hotel, I ordered the USB C to C Data Blocker to protect my phone and ipad. The adapter fit snugly into my ipad and iphone plug.

La charge rapide fonctionne, l'ordinateur ne détecte pas le téléphone branché, c'est parfait !

Tested with cable tester and confirmed that it blocks out D+ and D- pins, only allows Gnd, vbus, and CC1/CC2 to pass through. Don't have any high speed transfer cables to test with though. All 24 pins on the male and female side of the data blockers are also present, so unless someone is willing to send a high-speed USB-C to USB-C cable my way, we will have to take the manufacturer's word for it. I also tested charging it up to 40W without any issues, although the data blocker did get slightly warm after 10mins. The metal enclosure helped in the heat dissipation. I guess the size is also made intentionally small so it can be kept together with any charging cable, but I personally would have preferred it to be bigger or have a loop I can attach a Keychain to so that I would misplace it easily.
