San Francisco Bay Whole Bean Coffee - DECAF Bay Bridge Blend (2lb Bag), Medium Roast, Swiss Water Processed

Tried this on a recommended coffee to me while searching. Whole bean offering has a wonderful aroma when you open the bag every morning. Grinds well, little static with conical grind as the natural coffee bean oils remained through their roasting and production process. However, this isn’t always a mark of freshness, stale coffee can develop a rancid, acidic flavor while retaining a beautiful oily sheen.This was not the case, and every cup was consistent and flavorful.The only downside I would give for this coffee was the bag. Initially, I held the beans in the bag and rolled it closed with a spring clip on top. After I ground roughly a little more than half the bag, I did notice flavor change in the coffee and the beginning of higher acidity in the flavor profile.With a bag this size, this is not uncommon, in the future I will keep the unground beans in an airtight container before use.

I love my coffee dark and strong like my soul. I try to branch out every now and then with other roasts and brands, but I always come back to this one. It’s on subscription and it just arrives to my door step like a little gift from heaven.It’s smooth, dark and rich with absolutely no bitterness. It works in any coffee making modality. Pour over, drip, French press. Just get yourself a good burr grinder and you can have an amazing cup of coffee!

I ordered this coffee to enjoy an espresso or cappuccino in the afternoon when I'm out of fresh-roasted beans. First up, the coffee and espresso I make is perfectly serviceable and drinkable. I'll definitely finish the bag. As is typical with the stuff you get off Amazon, there's no roast date on the bag and I have no illusions that this was freshly roasted... and I wasn't expecting it to be. I expected to be cheap, when-I'm-out-of-the-good-stuff coffee, and that's what this is.Decaf beans tend to be a darker in appearance and more oily on the outside than non-decaf, but I found the taste itself to match a darker roast than I expected. I can take responsibility for part of that, but if I find myself ordering again from this roaster (which I'm on the fence about... would probably come down to price), I would probably order lighter than I would order from other places.I don't know if it was damaged in shipping, but one other thing I noticed is that there are a lot of broken beans and bean pieces. Combined with the extra oil, I really need to wash my hands after handling the beans. The oil was kind of expected, the broken bits, less so.I'll also mention that the bag uses an adhesive to reseal the bag (instead of a ziploc-style closure), and it's not exactly great. It loses its stickiness pretty quickly, so I would be prepared for that.All in all, I won't give it any awards, but the coffee is fine for a nice cheap decaf (and this is definitely among the cheapest coffee that I've found) that you don't care about too much. If the price is right, I'd order again, but at the same price, I'd just as happily try another roaster, or at least a lighter roast from these people.

I had to cut way back on my caffeine intake a years or so back when I started having Heart issues. I tried this decaf based on the reviews and the fact that it had zero caffeine. ( The swiss water process gets all the caffeine out where most Decaf coffees contain just reduced levels of caffeine.) It's honestly the best decaf coffee we've ever bought. Very fresh, never bitter (as long as you don't use too much) and great flavor. I'm on my 18th bag (auto delivered) at this point and don't see myself switching. I even mix it with the donut shop blend for "half caff" in the AM. My only gripe is that the packaging doesn't reseal well once you cut the bag. a Ziplock or wire ribbon closure would be welcome.

My partner is very conscientious of what he consumes. He already quit caffeine but was struggling to find a decaf coffee that he really loved because he still wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. After researching decaf he learned about the chemical process most companies use to remove the caffeine.He then learned of the Swiss Water method and the search was on for a good coffee brand. We found this SF Bay coffee and ordered a big bag on a whim. He loves it. He brews it using our French Press or pour over filter and makes big, strong batches so he can have iced coffee in the summer. We are almost out of the first bag and will be buying more soon.

At first I really liked these but have found them unremarkable. Flat and bland taste. Won’t buy again.

I switched to decaf a few years ago and have struggled with getting that coffee flavor that I crave every morning. I started to do some research on decaf coffee and also learned that I should be drinking swiss water processed coffee to avoid harmful chemicals in regular decaf. My local grocery store didn't have any so I went to the next logical place, Amazon. I had found one that I liked, but was looking for some other options to try and when I saw a decaf espresso, I was floored. Who knew! This had to have good coffee flavor. I will admit, I didn't realize it was whole bean until I got it, but that's fine. I ground it up super fine and make a pot just this morning actually. It has a great flavor and I will buy this again!!

This is a flavorful decaf coffee that has so far been consistent across batches. I chose it because it uses the Swiss Water Method.It’s a big bag, lasts for weeks, and has good value. It hits all the basics on my list!

Magnífico café. Tostado oscuro, con cuerpo y personalidad. El aroma es irreal, delicioso.Es un café para conocedores, no como las blandeces de tostado débil que toman los millenials ahora. Este café tiene toques de chocolate y cereza. No es ácido. Recién molido es de verdad, increíble.Lo preparo en AeroPress, prensa francesa, V90 y mocca. En cada caso es maravilloso.Si lo vas a echar a perder poniéndole leche y dulce, mejor toma Dolca. JAJAJAAltamente recomendado.

Realmente estamos contentos con la compra, el producto llego rapido, cuando probamos el contenido nos gusto el aroma, la textura y sabor, en el futuro cercano estaremos comprando más. :)

We were looking for a reasonably priced, tasty decaf coffee. I decided to look on Amazon because I could read reviews from verified purchasers and set up a regular delivery. I found this supplier by chance and ordered a bag of beans. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the coffee considering the beans were cheaper than more well known brands. The resulting cup is strong, and full of flavour. There is no chemical taste and friends who don't drink decaf, haven't ever realised that they're drinking a decaf coffee. We use the beans in a bean to cup machine and never have any issues with the brewing unit cloggin because the beans are too oily.I would recommend these beans for a decent cup of decaf coffee, that doesn't taste like decaf!

A good mainstay.
