Champion CSK-SET-5 Zero Flute 82-Degree Countersink Set, 5-Piece

Considering this set of five countersinks costs less than one good one, I'd say it's a very good value. I've used several of them to countersink aluminum and steel tube stock. They chew out a good angle very quickly without leaving burrs or chattering (like a "normally" fluted countersink). In fact, I've even used the large countersink with a very light "tap" to instantly de-burr holes. Even in a hand drill, they're very stable.I can't comment on the durability yet (I've probably only sunk about 20-30 holes), so if the price reflects any failing in these bits, it's probably their longevity.The 82-degree angle is the standard recess angle for SAE machine screws with recessed heads (called "flat head" screws by people who work with fasteners). Metric flat-head fasteners are (usually) recessed for 90-degree countersinks.The container is cheap, and probably isn't intended to be your day-to-day organizer (just enough to keep the bits from marring each other in shipping).

works well on aluminum. when I try to use it on titanium and other hard metals it has issues putting much of a countersink edge break and also puts a roll over burr on harder metal parts which defeated the purpose of why I bought this fluteless set for not creating roll over burrs during countersink. If you stick to the softer metals you will be ok if you are looking for no roll over burr. other wise you will need to blend the roll over off your holes after. It may be a decent set for some people but for me working with a wide variety of hard metals which are aerospace parts it doesn't do much for me.

Clean holes,easy to sharpen does what its supposed to do.I use these on wood and have not been disappointed. I have not used these on metal so I can not give a review on how they work for aluminum

These are small, set is useful for 3/8 holes or smaller, work great

This is a great countersink set for woodworking. Great results.

The largest of these countesinks is about .55" or 14mm in diameter. Based on listed size designations I figured it would be about 18mm or just under .75" in diameter. Obviously I was mistaken so I have no idea how Champion designates the sizes of their countersinks. Other countersinks listed by Amazon from other makers have the diameters clearly listed.Nowhere in the Amazon listing for this countersink set are diameters clearly stated and IMO they need to be.Other than that a nice set that appears to be intended for holes upto slightly over 1/2" in diameter.

This set is great. the box might be not the best but I don't buy products for their packaging, I buy them for the product. Creates nice smooth counter sinks with no tear out. A great buy, save your money and make your own case if you want to.

I only used this item one time so far, to bore holes for my Kreg router table (that I love too). Unlike the Hitachi bits I purchased locally, which (read my review) just burned the Kreg plate, the Champion bit - countersunk very well, yes, very clean bore and no burning!
