Harry Potter, the bespectacled boy wizard, has his first feature film outing in this blockbuster box office hit. Newly enrolled at Hogwarts School, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and his chums Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) have a surpise encounter with a three-headed dog guarding a secret trapdoor. They then begin to suspect that something important might be hidden beneath the school, and when they investigate it leads to an encounter with the evil wizard Voldemort (Ian Hart). Will Harry be able to keep up with his studies, lead his team to victory in the school sport Quidditch, and still triumph over the dreaded Voldemort?

My wife watched it with our grandchildren
The kids are reading the books in sequence and their Dad has decreed that they are not allowed to view the movie until they have read the actual book. When they watch Star Wars we have to suffer a running commentary. When they watched this, there was only rapt attention. That must say something!

Still enchanting the kids
I hadn't seen this since my kids saw it when it came out 18 years ago; thought it was great then but the kids had heard the books so maybe some bias and understanding of the storyThis weekend I rented it and played it for a generation that don't know the books or the hypeThe younger boy loved the magic and excitement; the older one - not yet 8 and fighting dyslexia - loved it so much he asked me to put the kindle app on his tablet and share my copy of the book so he could start to read it!Delightful film that still enchants and I still well up at the end - reading or watching

Buffering wheelmof doom.....
Couldn't watch the film, picture was terrible, when the streaming caught up and the picture improved, secomds later it would pause and buffer. Severely disappointing as I was trying to enjoy a takeaway while watching the film. Much swearing and mutterings of £3.50 wasted to rent the movie ensued.Did a speed check in tinternet, 35meg download; takeaway getting cold. Tried a YouTube vid, all fine, other half whining now about searching for something to watch and not enjoying the food (not my damn fault!) ended up on MyFive streaming something which was also fine.I really want a refund but can't be bothered trying to find out how to do it and then actually spend the time doing it. Poop.

Celtic to win 10 in a row
The film was great but a bit far-fetched. I believe in Wizards obviously, but some of the characters just wouldn’t happen in real life. I think that since this is based on a true story, they don’t need to over egg the pudding and could have kept it more realistic. Overall enjoyable though!

Films good
The films are good, they all are. However! Amazon are a shambles. We have a firestick which is in my partner's account, of which I am a member of his household - great all the benefits not the cost for me, fab. however, if I want to watch any of the films I have already purchased I have to purchase them again on his account so I can watch them on the firestick? I'd be less perturbed if I could even 'cast' the film to the firestick... but I can't.It's a complete money-grabbing exercise that I cant share my films with the household.

Great price for the rental + the kids loved it
Our kids are at the age where they're starting to get interested in movies/tv shows that are not childish for want of a better word. We thought we'd test the waters with the first Harry Potter film and went for a rental as we were unlikely to watch it again. The price of the HD rental was great, especially as we don't tend to re-watch films. This was our kids' first introduction to the world of Harry Potter and they absolutely loved it. Both were glued to the TV for (most) of the movie and this has now sent us on a Harry Potter binge where each weekend we buy the next movie in the franchise to watch. As for us adults, we enjoyed the movie as much as the kids did - a great family movie that keeps everyone entertained throughout.
