A revelation in dart shaft technology has arrived with the Viper Steel Wire Dart Shafts. These precision engineered shafts provide a multitude of great features to bring your dart game to the next level. Featuring tough, ultra-lightweight steel wires, these shafts are determined to last much longer than nylon or plastic offerings. Using this material is a mark of quality in dart shafts as they will stand up to tough wear and tear while providing a unique front-loaded balance point for a whole new way to optimize the flight path of your throws. With a locking hole featured on these shafts, you can use extra leverage to tighten them to the barrel, optimizing your dart’s trajectory by minimizing movement. Once locked into place, you won’t find yourself retightening after just a throw or two. Choose between short or medium size to comfortably space the flight from the barrel, further improving the flight path. Includes three short steel shafts in black or silver.

Poor quality control
I ordered two sets of these and I'm very disappointed. The materials seem fine but the assembly is shoddy. Five of the six pieces I received were not assembled properly. Specifically, the wire shaft was not well seated into the receptacle. That results, of course, in them simply falling apart in use. Avoid this product until they get their manufacturing process in order.Over a week in and I haven't heard anything from the seller. Do they care? I'm thinking, not. It's junk, avoid.Would be great to hear from them to make it right, so far, nothing.

They are very slim and if you don't like that then these aren't for you.
Just got these today and they came completely in tact, not bent, and I've already been throwing with them at the dart boat and so far so good. So far I love them. My darts stick in the board deeper than they have with regular shafts. Only time will tell if these other reviews actually come to pass, but I had a dart hit the concrete floor of our garage a little while ago and the shaft stayed intact. I love the slim design and the length (md). I particularly like longer shafts for my darts as they're easier for me to throw with a heavier dart. If these last longer than what the other reviews say I might just order more.

They work great but......
I play a lot of soft tip darts. I love these shafts. They work great but their quality is questionable. The flight holder separated from the wire shaft after about 20 games. I have had similar wire shafts last for thousands of throws.Fortunately it appears a little super glue worked at fixing the issue but I was highly disappointed it was needed. If not for that this would have been a 5 star product. Also the the shaft is painted, not stained. A nick is already showing bright aluminum on the flight holder.Update: A second failure where the flight holder is mounted to the shaft. Returning the item.

As expected
Came more than three though. If the seller wants me to return the rest I can do it. Just let me know. The shafts are just as I expected them to be. I don’t use them though. Didn’t work for me. At least not yet.Good quality. I like them.

Didn't survive the first game
The first time these darts bounced and hit the floor, the bent. The second time they broke. Shafts survived half of one game. They fly nice, but break easy.

Headline
two of the three shaft came out of base after two nights, maybe 30 games. I always remove darts near the tip and not by flights.

Maybe it was just faulty???
Wanted the added length on my 25g steel tip but the spacing for inserting the flight was too narrow ... eventually opened the gap enough to let a flight set mostly to depth...(it was just enough that the impact didn't knockout the flight.. most of the time.) I also had to sacrifice a set of flights trying to open the gap

Poorly machined.
Here's a tip you'll need to know: the slots for the flights are cut poorly. In order to get your flights into them, you can do what I did: use an Exacto knife to cut into the slots and open them up a little. If you don't do that, your flights won't fit.Once I figured that out and started using them, it feels like they take some weight off the dart, and push the weight totally into the front., which was good for me. I use a Dragon 24g dart that came with plastic shafts; replacing them with aluminum increased the weight. These wire shafts seem to reduce the weight, making my 24g darts nicer to throw, and putting the weight back to the front of the dart.Get these if you're looking to reduce the weight of your darts, and if you want to FEEEEEEL the weight at the front. But, be prepared to use an Exacto knife to open the slots so you can insert the flights. Also, be prepared for a negative reaction. They were a bit of an eyesore for me. They feel good to throw, but after using aluminum shafts for so long, seeing these tiny shafts are strange. I think I'll get over it. My dragon darts used to stand out among my friends in a good way... now, the REALLY stand out, but I'm not sure it's in a good way anymore.

Great product and great price!!
These shafts look great and throw great. They are a little too light for me but that isn’t a knock on the product. My wife throws with them and they are perfect for her.

Poor quality - don't stand up to even gentle use.
Of the 6 pieces (2 packs of 3), 4 have fallen apart already, after just light use. Had one pack replaced, but the second set started coming apart just after the return deadline. Will not purchase again.

Love it!
Feels so good though the throw

Slit too small
The slit is too small, it frays all the flights tips, none of the flights could be inserted. A waste of money.
