Helinox Sunset Chair Lightweight, High-Back, Compact, Collapsible Camping Chair, Blackout, 1.56kg, with Side Pokets

Bought this to use when caravanning and hiking. I’m quite tall (5”10) and a size 18 so was surprised this very lightweight chair supported me so well without feeling like it would give way! To put it up is a doddle; unwrap the fabric, give the poles a bit of a shake and they almost connect themselves. The fabric has 4 pockets in the corners to slot the poles into. Done! It has an elasticated pocket to hold essentials although not sure I’d put a mug in there, fine for a book/Kindle, phone etc. (You can buy a separate mug holder). It feels amazing to sit in, sort of ‘cups’ you, and the higher back also has a Velcro flap you can stuff a fleece or inflatable pillow into for even more comfort behind your head. Nowhere to rest your arms with this model except on your lap but that doesn’t bother me.Tip when re-folding, lay the poles in the SEAT part of the fabric after folding in the sides, and roll it up to the back - if you do it the other way it doesn’t seem to fit in the bag.Also bought the sand-mat to prevent chair sinking into soft ground, and the sun-shade, both well made and do the job perfectly.Yes it’s pricey for an ultralight, but it’s true you get what you pay for, this feels like it will last years. Pay out once and you’ll probably never have to replace this!A length of Velcro to wrap around the poles when you fold them up would be handy to keep in the bag - this could have been included really.Be aware this chair is VERY light despite its strength - a decent breeze will carry it off. If you attach some Paracord to a tent peg, this can then be looped around the base pole and pushed into the ground to stop your chair going walkies when you stand up. Or use your Velcro (see above) to attach the carry bag to the base pole and fill with something weighty like a few rocks.

I was a real sceptic about these chairs, given how expensive they seem. But they snap together in seconds, fold to tiny and weigh nothing. The high back and longer legs make them very comfortable, but probably not for a large person as they're quite narrow.

Not cheap but this sort of quality comes at a price, really well made, very comfortable and very light, excellent addition to our small Camper van.

Helinox products are very much at the premium end of the scale, but they are well made and really deliver on being compact and lightweight. The only downside to the compactness is that if you need to fold the chair down (to get it out of the rain for example) it is more complicated than cheaper bulky folding options.

Amazing support, light weight. Great in the camper van where space is minimal. Avaliable separately are the rockers, these make it even more amazing. I highly recommend. Rather expensive but the quality is reflected in the price.

A little expensive but you get what you pay for and this is top of the range.
