DT2030-GRSR Fly Traps Outdoor - Mosquito & Flying Insect Killer for 1 Acre – Kills Flies, Gnats, Wasps - Bug Zapper Alternative - Green

I was more than a little skeptical when I first heard about the DynaTrap on a radio Garden show that claimed it can cover 1/2 to 1 acre of property, but I have trusted the shows host on a number of things so I ordered it through Amazon. It took several weeks to arrive, as they were backlogged with orders as I am sure they are each Spring to Summer. The trap feels very light so you won't have to worry about a heavy or large hook to hang it. I installed it on the far edge of the patio but still under cover. I did not want the rain to soak it or the sun's UV rays to degrade it. I am a little concerned about the operating life, being left on 24/7. So far so good. I have had it operating for a month now and I am really pleased that it is so quiet. How it works: The light stay on continually and attracts flying insects day and night! When the insects get close, the fan underneath the light pulls them through the grate and traps them in the basket below. I have seen all different sizes of insects in the trap. Problems: I have only had one problem with the trap. I came out one day last week and the light was on but the fan was not turning. I unplugged the cord and found that a rather large June Bug was caught between the fan and the grate below it. These tough little bugs seem like they are made of a hard plastic and and this one was too big to make it trough the grate and was wedged in there, stopping the fan blade. I was think that perhaps this could have burned up the electric fan motor but after removing the bug and plugging it back in, it worked just fine. Apparently they anticipated this happening in the motor design. Nice job Dyna Trap! Operation: I empty the trap about twice a week and estimate that there is about one full cup of bugs inside. Some of the bugs that were apparently caught recently were still alive in the basket so I keep a can of bug killer close by and spray the bugs after I dump them out. (No since letting them take off and bother us again.) I probably should empty it more often because you can detect a slight odor from the dead bugs if you leave them in there too long. (Just a suggestion) Although I did not notice the smell from the patio because the fan blowing over them disperses the smell. Just the same, you may want to empty it more often. I am please with the quiet operation and clearly effective way it works, and have noticed a REAL difference sitting outside!. My backyard is about 1/2 acre and I still occasionally notice a fly by, but I'm not bothered like before. Even when I go out at night with a flashlight, I am not attacked by swarms of bugs. It has made a difference that is noticeable!

We’ve had the DynaTrap running in our backyard for a while now, and while it doesn’t zap bugs, it definitely works. I mostly see moths, gnats, and flies in there—though a few mosquitoes too—but it’s made a noticeable difference in bug activity around our outdoor area. Setup was super simple—just plug it in and let it run. It’s whisper-quiet and looks more like a decorative lantern than a trap. It’s been surprisingly low-maintenance too; a quick emptying every few weeks keeps it working well. Once I realized bugs don’t get zapped but dehydrate, I started emptying the basket with a plastic bag around it—fewer escapees that way. All in all, it’s a solid, discreet way to reduce flying pests—worth it if you prefer quiet and easy over flashy zapper action.

I’ve been running this DynaTrap in a warehouse-style garage for about two months. It definitely cuts down on the mosquito population — we notice fewer buzzing around — but it hasn’t wiped them out completely. For a space this large, I question whether the acreage coverage claims are a bit optimistic. That said, it’s quiet, low-maintenance, and makes a noticeable difference, which is more than I can say for a lot of other “solutions” I’ve tried. A good tool in the fight, just don’t expect perfection.

Hang this baby away from people to draw the bugs away. Still, our area had a notable number of mosquitoes. It says to keep it active 24/7, which caught a great many moths at night, so only did that once when we were not outside to enjoy its presence.

From my experience, Dynotrap mostly kills moths,which is not a great idea, as other animals need these as a food source , as well as they are not an annoyance to us. My main problem, and the reason I bought this, was because of the mosquito problem when we sit outside on our pool patio here in south Florida. We immediately realized this was a terrible idea as the trap immediately attracted bees from a tree near by, as well as beetles and moths and decimated them. As we all know bees are important to our ecosystem ….the other insects are not annoying and just being a food source to other creatures. Next we tried placing it at a new location …outside our front door, hopefully to keep the mosquitoes at bay while we sat out there. Also, hoping to prevent mosquitoes from entering the front door when opened. In that area it attracted almost entirely moths. We have now confined it to the garage as mosquitoes do end up in the garage from the opening and closing of the garage door…. We shall see. This purchase is disappointing. The box was thrown out so I cannot return it . Maybe in the garage it may prevent mosquitoes from getting in to our house from there. The device has a blue light which doesn’t zap the bugs and kill them but it only attracts them and then the creatures end up below in a cage where they die from dehydration.

Works far better than any bug zapper i have ever owned. Within a a few months, there was a large layer of bugs in the bottom of the collection basket. I let it run all day and night and it sucked in wasps, mosquitoes, beetles, etc. Works great.

The DynaTrap DT2030-GRSR Fly Trap is easy to set up and does catch a lot of moths, gnats, and even some beetles. It’s a safer and quieter alternative to a bug zapper, and it looks nice in the yard. However, there are two downsides. The power cord is too short, which makes placement a bit inconvenient unless you use an extension cord. More importantly, while it catches plenty of other flying insects, mosquitoes—the ones I really wanted to get rid of—are still around. It’s decent for reducing some pests, but not a complete solution for mosquitoes. Overall, 3 stars for helping somewhat but not fully solving the problem.

Increíble, pedí este dispositivo a través de Amazon España y lo enviaron desde América y modelo americano que no se puede utilizar en la red europea. No se menciona en ninguna parte que sea un modelo americano. Tuve que devolver el dispositivo por mi cuenta, que costó 266 €.

This is a 110v/60hz US model. Can not be used in Europe. Don't know why they are selling on .IT
