Thoroughly recommend silk tape to protect skin from friction redness
Excellent barrier tape which helps prevent skin breaking out during bracing for foot correction

I never knew surgical tape was made in silk. I noticed on the box that this product in manufactured in Germany; maybe that's why-you don't come across too many surgical tapes in the US that are manufactured in Germany. I have a Boston Scientific spinal column stimulator implant. It has a battery pack underneath my skin in the small of my waist and it has to be charged almost daily. There is an external charger that has to be 'married up' with the implant under the skin in order to charge the implant. This charger is best held in place by surgical tape, because it has to stay relatively still for about 2 hours to charge the internal unit. I use this tape to hold the charger in place, and it does a fabulous job. It has terrific holding power, is very soft on my skin, and pulls off without pain. When you think that I have surgical tape in the same location virtually every day for 2 hours, if it's a low quality tape it will irritate my skin-and my skin is exceptionally sensitive. The price I paid for this box is so reasonable I might stock up. I highly recommend this tape-you can't get better quality. I've bought many brands and types, and this is by far the superior one. Don't hesitate to buy it.

The value here is fantastic. And the tape is equally pleasing. When using tape on skin, you want something that is strong, but also breathable and not overly adhesive. This adhesive sticks firmly but without ripping your hair off like glue paper. The fabric breathes, and this helps avoid irritation. Buying in this quantity makes sense as Durapore is like $7 a roll, and hard to find in stores. I use this stuff mainly for securing electrodes to skin, but it is great for non-irritating bandages. The other neat feature is that while is as strong as tape can be, it is designed to be torn by hand (major plus if you dont have scissors!)

I was looking for a replacement for the discontinued J&J DERMIFORM tape, this was listed somewhere as a replacement, but it doesn't bend as well, and the adhesive is way more irritating, I think I will stop using it.

I've used 3M's Durapore tape for years, and have always been happy with it. It is a "finicky" tape, but when used according to 3M's instructions, it does the job it's intended to do. Note that this is not a sterile tape - it is a "clean" tape however. Normally the Durapore tapes I buy are USA-made. This was not, and is made in Germany, and it wasn't listed as USA made, so that's my own fault. Though I've given this tape five stars, that does bother me. It is 3M branded though, so I'm sure it'll work just fine. Next time though I'll make sure I buy the USA-made products (as most of 3M's products are USA-made). One really bright spot with this order is how fast I received it which was EXTREMELY fast (non-prime, sent UPS ground zone 2). I had the package in my hand the following day. That put one big smile on my face, as I'd just ran out of my supply. However, Amazon does not allow us to mention seller names here, so for that reason, I haven't. :-(

these are perfect for strong adhesion + durability + price. these are cloth type, meaning they can flex and twist but cannot really stretch. if it had some stretchability, then these would be absolutely perfect. also, after a full day of adhesion, they will still have some decent adhesion.
