Works well!
I bought this for a friend and fellow rock enthusiast! It works well! He uses it for his rock hounding finds and turns the polished stones into beautiful jewelry!

As posted works great
The first time run it is a bit touchy on the weight but once it got broken in I have had no problems. The compounds that comes with it are good for one complete run and seemed to work well. The instructions are pretty slim. It would have been nice for it to give the amount of each compound to be used for each process.

It quits working
I will not recommend this tumbler to anyone. We have not been able to even complete our first run of rocks. It was fine for the first month and a half, then started spinning out of control, run so fast that it could not even tumble, after 30 seconds it would stop for several seconds, then start spinning rapidly again. We tried adjust rock weight ,removing a few, or adding a few, with the same results. Now it is throwing out error codes and shutting down completely. Don't waste your money here, because all you will get is 'send a photo', spend a little extra so you can enjoy this hobby.

Buggy and Touchy But Can Work
So I picked up two of these Vevor tumblers for $29, thinking, “How bad can they be?” Well, worse than some reviews say, but better than others.Pros: they’re cheap and the barrels are well made (but loud). They also tumble very fast. I am doing Jasper in one barrel and chalcedony on the other. What takes 2 weeks in my Lortone 33B tumblers for stage 1 only takes a week in the Vevor. The bad news is that you can’t tumble much at a time, which brings me to the cons. . .Cons: the motor is just not built to handle much weight. At first, upon following the instruction manual, which says to fill the barrels no more than half to 2/3, I had continuous issues with the dreaded “E2” error code (no mention of E2 in the manual, but E1 is mentioned, saying it means the motor is overloaded and you need to reduce the load of the tumbler). I started reducing the weight and restarting the cycle. Eventually, after repeated failures and shutoffs, I *think* I’ve found the sweet spot for total weight of the barrel (rocks, water, grit), which cannot exceed 3 lbs 12 ounces; but to be safe, I keep the load around 3 lbs 8 oz. Since reducing to this level, both my Vevors have been running for nearly a day without any shut offs. That’s the longest since I received them a week ago. Also a con: the lids are sturdy, but you really need to make sure they lay down uniformly. If it’s not on perfectly flat all the way around, it will grind against the side of the machine and—you guessed it—trip the shut off sensor.Neutrals: speed 1 is all I will ever use on these tumblers. It’s still a lot faster than my Lortones, which run at 44 rpms. I timed the Vevor, and the motor speed at level 1 is 80 rpms. Level 4 is like, F1 Racing speed. I suppose the timer feature is nice if you’re in the habit of forgetting your cycle times. I place reminders in my Google calendar so I know which tumbler is finishing which stage on which day. (But I run multiple tumblers all in different stages of the process.)Takeaways: If you have realistic expectations for this tumbler, and have hard stone that you don’t mind beating to he!!, then this model could work for you. The weight limit (about 3 1/2 pounds fully loaded) means you have *maybe* half a barrel of rocks—probably a little less. (Think Naomi Watts getting tossed around by the tsunami in the film The Impossible.) Again, great if you want to quickly knock off the edges of hard specimens such as agate and jasper. But I would not place softer stones (below 6 Mohs) in these things. also, I have no idea whether or not this machine is good for polishing smaller gems and jewelry, but for rough stones, you just can’t stress that motor.I will update this review in a couple of months regarding longevity of these seemingly delicate motors.

Larger capacity, weaker motor
Compared to other hobby tumblers, the large barrel is great. Even though it is a 3lb tumbler, it stops often and need reset. The motor just cannot keep up with the weight.
