Strong, stable and easy to fit, these rails come with alternative fixing bolts for differing surfaces. They have a comfortable rail thickness and are made of robust, heavy-grade tubing with stout joints between the rails and mounting-plate. The double rail serves both differing needs for grip-height and helps prevent any slip "under" the rail and off the side of steps by unsteady climbers (like me). I can now use the steps from my door with confidence and security.

This is much stronger and better designed than some cheaper products, some of which wouldn't give me much confidence at all. This one has a non-slip crackle powder finish, and the sloping part is not too steep. It also has a valuable short horizontal section at the top, so one can move one's hand onto the sloping part gradually before descending. It is ideal if you only have a couple of steps. If you have three steps or more, you might need a longer model. I used the coach screws supplied with 10mm plastic plugs (not supplied) to fix to my brickwork, and I think if properly fixed it could support the weight of an elephant. The masonry expansion bolts supplied don't look very inspiring, and you might be better off getting some quality ones to avoid frustration. The mounting holes in the backplate are about 8mm. The tube rail is welded to the backplate for strength, not bolted as cheaper products often are. Not the cheapest but well worth the expense for this dreadnought engineering, oversize in every respect.

More expensive than similar products, but I needed a strong rail with a solid fixing plate, as it was being attached to a pebble dash surface. Felt very secure after fitting. Delivery was prompt as well. Happy with purchase.
