This fishing outfit met the criteria I had for picking out a fishing kit for our three year old granddaughter. She went from cane pole to spincast reels in record time and I figured that it was time for her to step up and have her own "starter" equipment. Either her father or I could cast for her initially and let her get used to using the reel while bringing in a fish (hopefully).The color is perfect for a young lady who idolizes Elsa and the other Disney characters and the set is strong enough to work until she is ready to step up to a "big girl" outfit. Having her own set lets her learn how to take care of it and will be a good marker for when she is ready to step up again. That and of course being able to cast a spinning reel.I wouldn't use this for anything but a beginner's set for a young child. This is not a solid or durable enough rig to survive the stress a teenager or adult would subject it to. However the related lures and equipment lend themselves to learning how to tie knots and retrieve various baits. Don't expect it to last long but it should last long enough! At least until that elusive big fish breaks the pole or reel for her.

I purchased this telescopic spinning rod and reel combo because I wanted to have a compact rod and reel to keep behind the seat in my truck because I sometimes stumble across small ponds that I would like to fish but often don't have my fishing rod with me. In addition, it is always nice to have another spare rod and reel to throw in my boat in case I decide to take a friend fishing with me.This rod has a casting weight of 1.06 to 2.12 oz. The gear ratio is 5.1:1. When fully extended, it locks in at 5.91 feet and I haven't had any issues with it collapsing or retracting while casting. It has stainless steel rod guides and plastic hooded reel sears. It comes with a non-slip foam hand grip and a silicone guard that covers the tip and distal guide rings for protection when traveling and it also comes with a little nylon bag for storage and portability. It does not lock when retracted but does have a silicone bungee to keep it secure while in the bag. All in all, I am pleased with this rod and reel and I hope to catch many fish using it.

The media could not be loaded. Perfect for hiking and going on long walks i always keep it in my bookbag. I recently took it out of town with me. Caught a few bluegill. I broke the reel on accident so I replaced it with another little pink reel. Rod still good! 👍

I bought this pole for myself and I have used it. I like the fact that is retracts and fits nice in the trunk. I am trying to get a little more "girly" so I got a pink pole :)

I haven't done any fishing yet, but i've given it a bunch of casts out back, and I like the quality of the pole, its good enough for what i need it for. Easy to set up and i love that i have it on hand to be able to pull it from my pack and fish when i want. Im gonna probably use a fold up headphone container to protect the reel when in my pack. so thats was the only hesitant thought i had when putting it in my pack / protecting the reel. I picked pink and the color is Amazing, serious, maybe its just me, but a fishing rod and reel is a personal item to me. now i dont have to worry about my adult boys taking this pole because you know how your children think whats yours is theirs too. They can continue to take my other one that doesn't fold which is fine by me now.

We bought this Girly Fishing POLE for my daughter (ADULT) to fish with her kids. They always want her to feel with them, and now she will have no excuses. I had fun with her fishing; now she can pay it back and see my enjoyment.

Took it Field & Stream to get the string put on professionally. Before the guy took the reel apart he he showed me that something inside was rattling. I gave him permission to proceed as I know nothing about these things?? When he took the top off, a washer just fell out. Then he asked me if I realized the entire reel was PLASTIC?? It looked chrome! I just told him I was just looking for a small r&r to keep in my car so I could fish when the feeling hit . So he began to spool the line. There was still 100 yards of room left before hitting the line capacity but as you can see the PLASTIC top literally gave way with the line just blowing out in all directions! Since the employee gave me warnings, it was not his error nor the stores responsibility. I had no use for the small box of accessories that came with this set so when this came in I immediately donated that to my local charity making it impossible to return this item for a refund since I no longer had all the original items! A HUGE disappointment & a total waste of money! It is cute! And I bet the people who left early reviews, aren't as happy after they used them and found out they are all plastic inside & out... JUNK... Plastic JUNK from CHINA

I am quite pleased with this fishing rod. I have been looking for a backpacking fishing rod for quite some time and decided to go with this one based on other reviews. The action is smooth, lockup is positive, and the drag works well. The rod does not feel flimsy when fully extended. I was able to bend it almost completely in half without any issues. The line guides feel solid. It is too cold for me to actually fish where I live currently so I have not used it to actually fish yet but will be fully putting it through its paces on the river this spring. The accessories that come with the rod are beneficial as well. I used different line than what was provided, but this was a personal choice.
