townssilk Cow Print Rug 4.1x4.5 Feet Faux Cow Hide Rug Animal Printed Area Rug Carpet for Home

I'm not an environmentalist, a tree-hugger, an animal-rights activist, or anything of the sort - I simply did a search for brown/white cow-hide area rugs, and this rug appeared in my results and looked like what I want. It met my expectations of size (I was looking for a cow-hide rug that could fit in an area under 4.5 feet by 4.5 feet), and the picture looked good. I wanted a cowhide rug that's mostly brown, with some white and hints of black, that I could put at the center of my new walk-in closet. Please note - this is not real cowhide (it says as much in the description), so there's an inherent advantage of "replicability". With real cowhide rugs, there's almost no expectation of what pattern you'll get on your rug. They never look like the pictures (which is understandable - no two cows have the exact same pattern) - you only get a guarantee of the dominant colors in the rug. So, as an Amazon Prime purchase, I figured I would like to see it in person, and simply just return it with no hassle, if I don't like it. This guy is a keeper! It looks ExACTLY like the picture (see photo attached) - and it exceeded my expectations in look and feel. It has the texture and consistency of real cowhide, but with an extra softness. Feels great under bare feet, is very low profile and therefore doesn't get caught under the closet door when I open and close the door (even though I usually leave the closet door open, the area that the door goes over when open and closing, overlaps the area covered by the rug). The top surface is very low pile fur, and it has some kind of soft fabric on the bottom. I wouldn't stick it in the washing machine though, but cleaning it should be fairly easy. When you fold it up, it takes up a surprisingly small space (the package came in a13x10x2 zippered plastic bag - I almost thought I received the wrong package). The bonus is that no cows lost their lives over this, which matters to some people - but that wasn't my primary reason for purchasing it (I eat a lot of cows, which are usually dead by the time their meat is extracted from them, so I can't pretend to draw a line over use of their skin).

This is a true statement piece!! I love love love overlapping with my other rug to make the room pop! My dog puked on it and I love how easy it was to just throw it in the washer!

I will say - this rug may not be worth $40. Maybe $25? But when you look at the market, it is the best of it's kind for the price. It's suuuuper soft, and has those little rubber anti-slide things on the underside, so it would be great for hard wood floors. Overall I'm happy.

Some reviews said this was like a blanket but i didn't understand what that meant until I got the item for myself. It's an ultra plush fuzzy but smooth blanket material and very thin. The material is acceptable. It's beautiful, but much smaller than anticipated and smaller than an actual cow hide. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because of the size. For the price, this is not nearly what it should have been. People say you get what you pay for, but in this instance I disagree. This should be much cheaper for the size and material. Get an actual cow hide if you're thinking about it, the price savings is not significant enough to make the quality difference worth it.

This rug is absolutely PERFECT. It’s incredibly soft and looks as great as it feels. I get loads of compliments on it, and it’s exactly what I was looking for. I’ve felt real cowhide rugs and they eek me out- the texture is terrible, and it’s just a bit ethically gross to me. However, I love the patterns on cows, and (if you take a second to think about it) as gross as it sounds, I love the shape of cowhide rugs. It’s really tough to find a quality faux rug, but this one has the perfect shape, size, and texture. Plus, it’s guilt free. On top of that, I’m pleasantly surprised as to how large it actually is. It came folded in a small box so I was concerned that it was going to be wrinkly and small. However it’s anything but that! I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a soft faux cowhide rug. You can’t go wrong with it!

Amazing. This rug is a serious value for the money. The faux texture is “fur-like” while still being super soft. Coloring is a natural, authentic ivory/cream (not too yellow, not too white), and the bottom side has little rubber grip dots to help keep it in place. It’s thin enough to throw over a sofa, or use as a rug. Look-It’s it’s not real fur, and the shape couple be a tad bid more random, it’s thin, and it’s a simple serged seam binding the edge, but don’t overthink it, this blends in without looking cheap. For the price you won’t regret it.
