10m Active USB Cable.
The cable appears to be well made. It was tested on two separate PC's, one Linux and the other Windows. The cable works fine on both PC's with 3 different budget USB cameras. I found that on adding an extra 5m of passive cable between the end of the active cable and the camera, the camera still worked. So I could extend by a total of 15m. 5m of passive cable is regarded as maximum for reliable USB connection.Note the cable was not tested on a more energy - consuming device such as a hard drive. The cable arrived quickly.

Providing a robust connection
To be honest I didn't have high hopes for this product as USB isn't designed to run over longer distances. However I was surprised to find that this cable actually works very well.I use this to connect my PC in the house to my telescope rig in the backyard, around 15m away. At the telescope end I have the cable connecting to the rig via an unpowered USB hub, which services an imaging camera, a guide camera and the telescope mount. So far I've had no dropouts during imaging sessions. The cable itself is rugged, with a self-powered repeater unit halfway along its length. It comes with a power supply to make provision for power hungry USB devices, but I haven't needed this for my Use Case. The only downside is that as it's a thick cable, presumably due to being well shielded, it's not so easy to coil up after use. But I guess this is a trade-off for providing connectivity over such a long distance and it's certainly something I'm prepared to live with.Highly recommended.

Works BUT check power
This was brought to connect a PreSonus USB guitar interface to a Mac via USB. The mac is a fair way from the interface. When I first plugged it into the CalDigit Thunerbolt expansion box into the USB-A port, there was a clicking on the headphones and I could see the power light flashing as if the power was being supplied quikcly on and off. I then put the cable into an unpowered USB hub that connects to the USB-C port rather than the USB-A port. The clicking disappeared and it works fine. I am not powering the extension cable other than through the USB port.I'm happy to blame other factors than the cable here, as it now works OK.Not cheap but cheaper than the StarTech one.

Work with usb power
Good to find a usb3 cable extension that works with the Mac usb power. I put a three way usb hub on the end for wired keyboard and mouse plus a memory stick.

For the first year this cable worked great, but a couple of years later in another room, whatever I connect to it disconnects/reconnects every few minutes
