The cage is a solid metal, no aluminum. The bag is a thick material, waterproof and strong. Straps are also, a good quality. We used this on a 5 hour trip, and it rained on the way down and back. Everything stayed secure and dry.Only issue I had was when loading suitcases, the bags would fall into he grates of the cage. Kinda a pain when is 96⁰ with 80% humidity. I'm going to look into a way of putting some kind of flat piece of material to help the bags slide better when loading it. But don't let that hold you back. I was able to fit 8 suitcase, 3 beach chairs, a bag of towels, and a duffle bag on the roof. ..

Got this for taking vacation so that the car was not over crowded with luggage on the inside. It was very easy to setup and use.

Box was damaged when we received it and frame was bent inside. Fortunately was minor enough that we were able to fix, and it was still usable. Seems like it will hold a lot of cargo.

Very easy to assemble and felt sturdy/secure when installed on the roof rails. At full length, it was a bit long for our Acura MDX, but the cargo carrier fit well when we shortened it. The waterproof bag is made of quality material and feels thick; no water is getting in! Keep in mind that the bag will be one size, and the 84" bag would fit perfectly on larger vehicles. Additionally, I must say, Mockins provides excellent customer service and is committed to customer satisfaction.

At to install, easy access and works great

Seems like a great sturdy product and was easy enough to put together.

My vehicles roof is already damaged, but others may be putting this on a newer/nicer vehicle than mine so word to the wise, if it rains while in use, water makes its way into the bars and turns to rust water and goes into your paint. Very disappointed in the product for how much it costs. If you still purchase this, I would recommend spraying an in frame wax to the bars to prevent the rust issue, but it's going to cost you more on top of the product which I don't believe it should.

I didn't expect too much out of this roof rack since it's not a crazy big name brand but I was pleasantly surprised. It's huge and has customizable sizing. The middle piece can be added or removed depending on the length of your roof bars. This roof rack fits my husbands big tahoe using the middle insert and also fits my honda pilot without the middle insert since mine has a sunroof. It comes with everything you could possibly need such as straps, netting and a waterproof bag with a lock for keeping others out of your things. I only have one concern with this roof rack; despite really liking it I do question how long it'll last considering my car isn't parked in a garage. My husband brought to my attention that the bars aren't solid bars. Instead they are hollowed out bars so I worry about how well this will hold up in heavy humidity and rain. Time will tell but it has already rained a handful of times and so far it's holding up so we will just have to wait and see. I will be keeping an eye on this and coming back for further updates. My only other gripe would be the big eyesore of a logo on the front simply because it sticks out like a sore thumb and in my opinion just doesn't look right considering it doesn't match anything on my car. I'm thinking about painting the letters black so that it doesn't stand out so much because the bright blue just looks out of place for me.
