Plants get their daylight, we get our privacy!
I needed something for our bathroom that would provide a level of privacy during the day so that my plants would receive daylight without us having to continually close the blinds. Of course I expected that we would need to close them when taking a shower since we have a walk in shower with no door. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of privacy. You absolutely cannot see into the room at all. We have not needed to close the blinds ever. It's surprising to me because I'm a very private person and never expected a window film to give a level of privacy that would make me feel that comfortable. I have stood outside our windows like a creeper when it's dark outside and the bathroom lights are all on and there's condensation on the windows from my husband showering and I was not able to see in at all. Something has to be completely against the window to be able to tell what it is. You can see an example of that with the middle window that shows the outline of an outside plant against it. I've had the film on for several weeks and am not at all concerned that it will come off. It's not showing any signs of that happening. It also was extremely easy to apply. You just need to make sure you're working with a completely clean window and use slow steady pressure when working the bubbles to the edge of the film. There's no need to press hard. I would recommend this product 1000% as well as the company. I messed up one of my windows. It had to do with the grid on a new roll and was my fault because i didn't re-measure. I contacted them to see if they would consider a discount on what I needed to replace since I had purchased a large amount previously. They opted to just ship me a replacement which was so kind. Top notch product and top notch company!

Works great! Take your time.
Works well! Can be a little tricky so what I did was make a template and then trace it and then cut.Be careful using a pencil or pen to do this - the pencil mark though light, was not easy to erase. If you dont need to use a pen or pencil at all that would be best.It does come lined for easy cutting but my window panes did not line up to them.Use lots of water and spray the window - ensure its clean of any debris prior. Rubbing alcohol to clean the glass prior is a good idea. There was some bubbles but I rubbed the window and then days later they worked themselves out. Looked better and better as days passed.Overall I love the way this came out - took me maybe 1 hour to do 4 average window panes in a door. The hardest part was measuring the windows and making the template. It has transformed my door and I wish I took a before photo - still working on the door but I love the way it looks. The light is filtered and warm and gives a great ambience to my kitchen.

Easy Peasy for window privacy.
I just moved into a new home with giant windows in every room of the first floor. It's beautifuly outside and adjacent to a path leading to a nearby park . . . so you can imagine how crazy my dog gets when people, bikes, and other dogs walk by constantly. I was ready to lose my mind until I saw a video of someone who tried this on their windows - also to quiet a set of noisy pups. It was super easy to measure and cut to size, then spray the soapy water and attach the film. My only complaint is that a few of the pieces look splotchy and I have no idea why. I cleaned the windows, took off the film to double check it and reatttach the piece....but still splotchy. In any case the only time my dog barks now is if people or dogs going by are loud enough for him to hear. I bought three rolls!

Review on plain opaque film, directions, and privacy.
I used it for a back door window and it was reasonably easy to apply. Directions say you can't use enough (soapy) water, but I say you can. Lol. The good thing about adding a little excess water is you can slide the film around to get it where you want it. Directions also state to mix "1 quart of water and 1/4 mild dish soap or no-tears baby shampoo." I didn't know if that meant that 1/4 of the mix should be soap, 1/4 cup or what, so I added approx. 1/4 cup baby shampoo because 1/4 quarter of 1 qt of soap would have been the whole bottle of baby wash. It worked out well. I had to cut the excess on the window with the razor provided and that side is jagged, but it's so close to the edge of the window it's not very noticeable. It does provide pretty decent privacy, so I will be using a curtain in front of it for night time when the indoor lights will be on and it would be easy to see a person on the inside of the house. However, it will be good for day time to let light in. Not bad at all for the price. The only deficits are the instructions are a little screwy in a couple of places and that when I cut one side while the film was on the window that whole side is jagged. It said to have extra, which I did. I should have not had extra and measured perfectly prior to hanging it. But you might find perhaps a better razor will work for you and to actually hang it with the extra film it suggests, then cutting the excess.

Great value and product!
So far so good! Here's what I did: Clean window first. Cut the window cling to the shape and relative size of the window, but a little bigger than what you need (the backing the cling comes on has lines on it, so you don't need a ruler or anything. Just use the lines on the backong). Spray window with water. Peel off the lined-backing. Attach cling to window and line up the top and one side to where you want it. Get the bubbles out with the little scraper, and then use a razor blade to cut the excess off of the bottom and other side. This is the easiest way I've found!

easier than I thought to apply
I bought this to deter my dogs from seeing every movement outside. It helped really well and lessened their need to bark and make a disturbance by running up to the window sills and scratching the finish with their toenails. Since the window is near ceiling to floor, I only put the film on the lower half that they use to see movement. I can clearly use the top half to see who is at my door still. It is actually fun to install with only soapy water and a smoothing tool provided inside the tube. Everything from tiny spray bottle is in the kit. Just wash the window, dry, separate film from backing and apply to a soapy window surface, The hardest part is separating the film fom the backing.
