MIU COLOR Silicone Glass Water Bottle

This has to be one of the most disappointing reviews I’ve ever left for a product...because I LOVED IT. I loved it so much, after I received the first one, on September 1st, I immediately ordered another one. As a matter of fact, I loved it so much, there’s a third one sitting in my cart as I type this! But that was before the great “POP!” Now all I have left are two glass bottles with no bottoms!First let me say that neither of these bottles were dropped. They haven’t even been taken to work or the gym yet. I’m on a staycation and I’ve just been enjoying them at home. But on Sunday I took one out with me while I ran errands. I kept it in the cup holder and it stayed in the car the whole time. While driving home, there was this crazy loud POP in my car. I immediately pulled over, scared to death, and tried to find the source of the POP sound. I couldn’t find it. When my heart rate resumed, I went to take a sip from my Miu water bottle and that’s when I got a lap full of water!! IT was the source of the POP! Yet I couldn’t find the crack on the glass!! Holding the bottle and turning it to see where it was cracked, I could hear glass “moving” - it had a crack somewhere, I just couldn’t see it.When I got home, I carefully peeled off the silicone sleeve and to my surprise, the entire bottom had become detached from the bottle!!! What. The. Hell!?! I was crushed. I really did love this bottle. Though, to be honest, I was first inclined to place the blame firmly with Amazon. When I received my bottles, they had each come in their own cardboard boxes and were shipped in a much larger Amazon box with almost no packing materials. They were free to flop around the shipping box.Anyway, long story longer; I made note to call Amazon and tell them what had happened. I grabbed my other Miu water bottle, filled it up and went about my day.Later that night, I was sitting at my desk and took a sip from my bottle. This time, there was no pop... but I still got a lap full of water!!! This one had spontaneously cracked as well! In the same exact place, in the same exact pattern. (See photos!) This was no longer a water bottle that was weakened during a bumpy delivery, this was clearly a design flaw. A BAFFLING design flaw!!Now, if you made it this far, you’re probably thinking I’m crazy and water bottles don’t just spontaneously break all on their own. But believe me, these did and I’m just as bewildered and confused by it as you are. It was truly unbelievable!So, I don’t even know what to do at this point. I do know that I want my money back, I know I still need to find two non-self-shattering water bottles, and I know I need to take that third Miu bottle out of my cart!If they didn’t self combust, they would have received 5 stars across the board. I loved everything about them! But this girl needs her water bottles to have bottoms. And, should it turn out to actually be a design flaw, a bad batch or a manufacturing defect, I hope Miu will let me know when they get it resolved. They’d have the best bottles in town...if they held water!(Also, as an almost irrelevant side note; the ring thingy in the cap of my second bottle would never stay in the cap. I have no doubt that it was just one faulty ring out of thousands and the company would have simply replaced it, and I only mention it only because it is shown in my photos.)

First impression: beautiful water bottle. Nice silicone sleeve that fits snugly and feels good in my hand. I like the size... not too big for my little hands but large enough that I'm not gonna have to refill every time I take a drink. Glass does not feel wimpy!I think my only disappointment (for lack of a better word) would be the size of the opening. I didn't see that anyone else posted a picture, so I thought I would. The smaller cubes from my ice maker will fit, but only one at a time; therefore, it's gonna take a while to fill (I do like my ice). Doesn't change my 5-star, but it might for some.

I drop this all of the time and it's still doing great. Its the perfect size and shape. The color looks exactly like the picture. It come with a FREE BOTTLE BRUSH! And even though it's a cheap plastic it works so well. The sponge is great and really cleans every part of it.Clean it before you first use it. And make sure you wash the entire thing, inside and out. The silicone on the outside smells a little chemically before the initial wash. (I didn't realize this until I was drinking from it so the silicone was right under my nose.Check out the pics for size.

I'm generally anti-plastic and have grown to hate the taste of my hydroflask's metal. The glass of this Miu bottle is a little thinner than I'm comfortable with...maybe half as thin (or thinner) of a Synergy kombucha bottle (which is what I reuse/drink water from otherwise). I bought this for the silicone protective cover (not as bad as plastic?). I figured if/when the bottle breaks, I can at least reuse the silicone cover on my reused glass bottles. Thin as this bottle may be, I will say that I've dropped this from shoulder height without it breaking or even cracking. So far so good... I'll likely buy another as a gift.

UPDATE:I really liked this bottle for about 3 months - then one day it just broke for no reason! I used it exclusively at work, so it had only ever gone between the kitchen and my desk. No strange temperatures, no rattling around at the bottom of my bag. I never dropped it. I never used it for hot water, only cold water, and I never stuck it in the fridge or freezer. So the water was average cold. Then I was sitting next to it one day when it made a really loud noise and slowly started dribbling water. I couldn't even tell what was wrong until I got the plastic off - it broke off in an entire ring about a half inch up from the bottom!While the plastic sheath probably saved me from flying shards and contained the broken glass, it also meant that I had to peel off a wet rubbery cover to see what was wrong, when there was a ton of broken glass at the bottom! It looks good, but that's a dangerous design when your bottles are going to break for no reason.ORIGINAL:I really like this bottle! It's very bright, water stays pretty cold in it, and it's a good size. My only complaint is that it does not come with a cleaning brush like some reviews say and like the information from the seller on the product page says. I contacted them to request it be sent, since I thought it was just missing from my package, but they said that it doesn't come with any cleaning supplies. The brush had been one of the reasons why I chose this over others, because I didn't want to have to buy a separate brush for the narrow opening at the top. But, it looks good and it does the trick. The silicone slips around a bit, so I constantly have to readjust it, but that's very minor, and cleaning it is kind of annoying without the brush.
