Good Stuff
I purchased this for use in a newly acquired ultrasonic cleaner. I am new to the ultrasonic cleaning process and initially tried plain tap water and then tap water with a squirt of washing up liquid. No real success with either of those beyond a gentle clean so thought I would try this solution. It's quite a big bottle at 1 litre and only a small amount is required 1 to 3 capfuls per 600ml of water so this bottle will last ages - in my case probably years!I added 1 1/2 capfuls to 300ml the max amount recommended and tried again to clean some old coins - as a test. The results were certainly a lot more impressive than tap water/detergent alone but still not wow! I then tried cleaning an electric razor foil and cutters - this time terrific results. After about 5 minutes the items came out of the cleaner gleaming. I have since tried cleaning a variety of jewellery from watch straps to chains and all have given excellent to very good results.I'm very impressed with this cleaner, it has a nice clean lemony fragrance , the dilution rate at weakest would give 20 litres so I believe gives good value for money.

Pretty good
Not brilliant, but still pretty good. I gave my rolex style submariner watch a sonic bath in a 1 cap to 200ml solution for 10 minutes, and you should've seen the amount of crap that came off. I then put it under my uv lamp to see how clean it was. Dirt that accumulates on watches and jewellery shows as a greenish colour under uv light. There was still quite a substantial amount of dirt on my watch, so I gave it a good scrub with a soft toothbrush and then gave it another 10 minute sonic bath. This time when I put it under my uv lamp, there was just a few minute spects left. So all in all. Pretty darn good for my watches first ever bath in 2 years.

Not great for silver tarnish.
The media could not be loaded. The solution is not to be used on jewellery with pearls or opals - that's pretty standard and doesn't have much to do with the solution and more to do with the effects of ultrasound on natural materials and soft gems. It smells a bit soapy - a lot like washing up liquid in fact! The cleaner has a water softener built in - we live in a very soft water area so I can't comment on how good that is.I tend to wear silver rather than gold, and I have a number of pieces in various states of tarnish or dirtiness. I used the maximum strength of the concentrate and set my cleaner off for five minutes. Five minutes didn't seem to bring about much improvement, so I did a further five minutes. The jewellery did come out cleaner, but some of it was still fairly tarnished - I think this is more to do with the power of my cleaning machine rather than the solution. However the amount of dirt and general nastiness that was removed was pretty impressive. The worst tarnished pieces got another five minutes cleaning and it was better again. I think it's an incremental thing - the more you clean, the better the result, because you're starting point is better.I don't think this cleaner is much use on very heavily tarnished pieces, but it's much better than using the ultrasonic cleaner with water alone. At £9.95 for a litre of concentrate (as at 15 March 2024) I think this is good value, and I think the more I use it the more impressed I will be. At the moment, a really good product but not great.
