Works great, but check it fits your cooler!
Such a handy thing to have. Do check that it matches your cooler, as this won’t fit most of the mini-fridges out there, it’s a different plug. But if you have the right cooler (I have a Dometic), then this works great. What it enables you to do si bring your cooler into the house and use it as a mini-fridge. Ours came with a mains adaptor, but it got left behind on some trip or another, and so our cooler had become something we could only use in the car. This enables us to have it in the bedroom when someone’s down with the lurgi, so along with our mini-kettle they can make their own tea (milk store), as well as have a few cold bevies. Same for a kid’s room, where they can have friends around and have cold drinks and ice-cream in the fridge in their room. That seems to go down very well! It’s a bit bulky, but not at all the end of the world, for the flexibility it gives. So, works great, no problems. Happy with it! Such a handy thing to have. Good quality charger which adds versatility to my fridge
I have a Dometic-CFX-50 Waeco freezer that I have had for nine years. I do not use it as much as I did when camping, but it is so useful as a backup, like defrosting the main house fridge, taking to a garden party etc. that I have kept it and looked after it as it is one of my favourite things that I own. They are very popular with camper van owners and I have always had an idea to downgrade my motorhome. These fridges are NOT cheap to buy new, so I choose to keep it. So when I get the opportunity to upgrade it's functionality, like this charger then I am going to jump at the chance. My fridge does in fact already have a 240V 'Kettle' type cable so obviously already has a built in transformer. But one of the pins is a bit slack and moves a bit since the mains cable was accidentally yanked out a while back. It still works, but I am a bit worried of how long it will last or even if it is safe. So this charger allows me to use the 12V cable in all cases. I also have a portable solar battery with a built in power draw meter, and with this charger plugged into the 240v AC inverter outlet, it was drawing only 46 watts with compressor on. Now I know that the fridge is very efficient, but this shows that this charger is also well designed and fit for purpose. The regular 12V outlet on the battery showed 30W draw with compressor on. So a mere 16W difference is very good. This charger makes a good backup power solution that I would recommend if you have the appropriate compressor fridge.
