this can opener really is easy to use. it is a strong and sturdy piece of equipment. you also get a five year guarantee. it opens round and rectangular tins too. it leaves no sharp edges, either on the can or lid. if you are worried about opening tins with ring pulls, do not be. because this can opener opens those tins too. again, leaving no sharp edges. my previous can openers lasted about a few months. they were cheap ones. you pay more for this item, but if it lasts, and the ease of use whilst leaving no sharp edges, its well worth it.

Purchased this because our 25 year-old can-opener stopped working. Works surprisingly well: cuts through can lid edge leaving two blunt edges, not through the lid or the can's body. An expensive, though beautifully engineered tool. At first we thought that the product was mal-functioning; a closer look at the barely visible photocopied pictorial instructions showed that we needed to use the built-in 'pincers' to detach the bisected lid from the can...

this item was for my 'Left-handed' Wife and Daughter. Both say it is an excellent product, and makes their life much easier.

After the initial faffing about trying to get the opener to clip on to the can everything fell in to place and was impressed how easy and natural it was to use after 70 years of struggling with a righty can opener. Now where are the other left hander gadgets. :D

Had to get my your head around how it actually works. Placing it face down, rotating the handle don't think it's working, but is absolutely brilliant. Fantastic to see a right-hander really struggle with it... Now they know what we left-handers have to put up with

The first one i had of these worked great but after 6 yrs it was needing replacing.The new one is leaving little metal slivers right around the can. It's definitely not paper label as they're shiny and silver.Cleaned it and it did the same with two other cans.It could be just a dodgy one but best to check them.

didn't work returned

After spending too much of my time reviewing what is not an exciting topic. I bought this can opener in January 2013 and because of it's price I thought I was buying a quality product which would last. In hindsight I think I fell for the old German engineering myth and for the price I was expecting quality. The device itself looks well made of quality plastic and looks the part. It started off great at opening cans cleanly and without sharp edges but it didn't last. Within five months it stopped working. It no longer opens tins and worse still it cuts shards of fine metal but doesn't open the can. Amazon should also have a longer returns policy than they do, I had until mid February to return the product, so much for consumer rights. I shall buy from a shop next time but not this over expensive product which after five months of service it is only fit for the bin.

So easy to use, opens the can very easily without have to strain to turn the handle. Great grip to take lid off without having to touch it. Love it.
