Wow - what an upgrade
I bought this to replace a 10 year old camera. I think the other camera was either 720p or perhaps 1080p. It worked - but had a limited field of view and night vision on it was just ok. People often could evade being detected if they walked up a certain part of my yard. The camera could not see it.The Duo 3 far exceeded my expectations. It easily sees 300% more of my yard than the old camera. Plus, the resolution is way better. No more delivery people will be able to sneak past this field of view with this camera.I am also using this with software called Frigate, which integrates with Home Assistant. Frigate was easy to set up. (My old camera worked with it as well).Other features the new camera has compared to my old one: microphone, speaker, better night vision, and a spotlight. I may not use the audio capabilities, but nice to have if I change my mind. The spotlight is reasonably bright. I like having this so if it detects motion at night, it will turn on. Useful for people walking up to the door or perhaps to spook a prowler. The app does not require an account. I downloaded it, installed it, and am able to watch my camera. I think I can set up an account and probably some type of paid plan, but have yet to be prompted by it. Very nice! I do not want to deal with another account. (Since I use Frigate as my nvr, I also do not want any paid services).I bought this on sale. I think it might have been cheaper than the camera I replaced from 10 years ago. Still amazed at how good it is.

Great for a back or front yard
The media could not be loaded. A couple years ago, I purchased the Reolink DVR with 4 cameras, and had them mounted on the 4 corners of my home. 2 in the front yard facing each other so I can see the whole area, and 2 in the back yard facing each other. I've always wanted better side yard visibility since I've had a few instances now of people crossing through my sideyard and even contruction people working for a neighbor who were in my side yard. So, I bought this on sale (thank you Amazon and Reolink) to cover the back yard, and repointed the ones on the corners to see the side yard. You can see in the screenshot above, I can now see all of my yard and have a great view of the backyard. The clarity is nice. I also like the floodlight feature on it as well as the 2 way communications available. The siren COULD be louder, but I won't be using that much (hopefully). As I've mentioned in previous reveiws, I love that it's a POE camera since it won't need batteries and can't be jammed by a FlipperZero or other wireless jamming device. It can't be disabled without you first having been recorded. That being said, I would recommend pairing it with the DVR for that purpose. It can take up to 256GB of memory in an SD card, but that can be removed. If paired with a DVR indoors, they can take the camera or remove the card, but they're still recorded securely in your home! Also, if you're like me and have your network equipment on a battery backup, cutting power to your home won't kill this camera. It will run on the juice being supplied across the network! Sweet! If you're not interested in that, can't get network cables to the location you plan to mount it, or just prefer wireless still, then go for the wifi version of this camera. I'm still impressed with the rest of the features enough to suggest it!For the techies out there like me, it plays nicely with all the IOT services. Apple Homekit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and (my favorite) HomeAssistant all play well with it! In Alexa and HomeAssistant (the two I've tested the most with it) even the options to send voice back to it, trigger the siren, and trigger the flood light are all available! I'm already testing automations in HomeAssistant now!For the price, this is a great camera. My only complaint is a nit-picky one, and that is that in the DVR dashboard it comes across a bit small because it's panoramic. I hope they add layouts in the DVR to accomodate these later! Until then, I'm still satisfied. It's been worth every buck!

Used to use Blink, but will never go back!
Originally had the Blink battery cam system, and after a while, it would just get annoying having to up every two weeks to change the battery.Enter in The Reolink Duo3! The camera has great quality (far better than the one on the blink system), and the night vision is great too–you can use the IR or even the light on the cam (which is all an option available via the app). The sound quality is great as well... it can even pick up conversations from the sidewalk. It looks like a regular cam, and the size is similar to one... but it gives you 2 cams in one with the 180 degree view. This is one of the best features of the cam.The setup wasn't that easy though. It took 2 days for my father and brother to install (I'm currently injured and can't do anything physically demanding, otherwise I would've helped too). The reason for the lengthy of time was because of the way my father wanted to set it up on the house. Had to run the wires through the attic and all the way to the basement (where the router is located). He wanted the cam, so I bought it, and he's very satisfied with it.We even have the stoage system (dvr) as well. It's a great addition to the system and boosts its functionality. At the end of the day, my father said that it was worth all of the labor he and my brother did, because it is the best camera system he ever had.BTW- We had 2 Blink cams setup on the right and left corner of the house. Now, we just have this one Reolink cam that covers more than the two Blink systems were able to cover together. Seriously, this is a great security cam. I recommend it to anyone in the market for a great security system!
