Wow this stuff really works, here is a photo of the first try using this brazing rod, the second photo is us trying to make it fail. To make this work you have to CLEAN your material, scuff it with sand paper, CLEAN it again, then get the material hot enough to flow out the rod. We used propane torch with map gas.

I had 0 success with these. While yes this was my first attempt at brazing I was melting through my aluminum stock before the rods were melting. The only way I could get the rods to melt was have them in the flame too which you are not supposed to do. So I assumed it was just me but to test it I went to the store and bought name brand brazing rods, and bam, I got it to work. So I swapped back and forth between brands of rods to see if it really was the rods or just me but I could never get these to melt as they were supposed too, and when they did it would just ball up and not stick. Additionally, these rods are super thin and bend very easily. I found with the name brand rods that if I really rubbed on the stock it creates a much better adhesion, but with these rods they are so thin you won't be able to do that with out them bending on you. Lastly, because they are so thin the heat transfer is pretty extreme, the heat would crawl up near the top of the stick very quickly and make it hard to hold. So no, I would not recommend these. Go to the store and buy name brand and save yourself some headaches.

I tried to use this rod electric it did not work out well. However it works good to go using a propane torch.

There are some neg reviews I read. The reason it doesn't bond is = lack of heat. You need a high temp torch to heat the object being welded. I use a acetylene and oxygen torch to weld the rods. Its used for brazing. Works great. To use these rods you need the proper torch. May be it should be posted on the page?
