If you are trying to make a custom rack mount using a blank, this is not the one for you. The hinging protrudes inwards quite far. I was trying to make a hinged mount to hold some custom items (that aren't rack mount) in my rack by cutting out holes and attaching the items with custom brackets. The hinges and lip prevented that.The idea was to be able to hinge the plate out with the small custom items in it so I can access the back quickly.

Its hinged on both sides but one side should be stationary and have magnet instead you have screw down both sides which defeats the purpose. If i need to bother to get my screwdriver out to take off completely two screws I might as well take the other two off and pull the who darn thing off.Also, it fits way too tight. Even if i didn’t have to basically uninstall it to hinge it you can’t unhinge it anyway because its stuck.Redesign: make it slightly thinner than a normal blank 19” 1U, so it can hinge freely and secondly make one side stationary having it close onto a magnet to keep it shut when not hinging. The hinge goes fully both ways so reverse the door if you want it to open to the left as opposed to the right.As designed, it’s simply not worth the money.
