Q: What do I do if this humidifier won’t turn on and is making a beeping noise?

Call the customer service number It beeps once when plugged in but it should not continue to beep. Make sure you have the unit set up correctly and not over filled. Good luck

Q: must I lift the entire tank in order to refil?

No. What I do is fill a gallon pitcher with cold water, carry it over to the humidifier and carefully pour it in. I set the humidifier for 6 hours overnight just before going to bed. The one gallon of water is good for 3 nights of 6 hours each before needing to be refilled. But I could just as well fill a half gallon of water and carry that over. But I know it would only be good for one or maybe two nights for six hours each night.

Q: Does it really work for 300 sq ft?

Yes. I would center the unit in the room
