Sewell Direct SW-22050 PC to TV Converter

This worked really well for playing video+audio from my laptop to my old CRT TV!It looks strange seeing Windows 7 on a really low-res CRT TV but hey! It works! Didn't need to install any drivers or additional software or anything at all. My TV was enumerated as an external display right when I plugged it in.I was particularly impressed by the quality of the sound. I played a rhythm game with the song "#Selfie" and the voice parts come in perfectly clear, so does the music. The video looks really down-scaled but that's what I'd expect for trying to use Windows like that on a 480i display, and it's not an issue for general usability for my purposes.Playing rhythm games, latency is usually an issue but I observed no added latency with this adapter.This ended up being the perfect video adapter solution, at a great price point too. Would recommend.

I needed a device that would allow our church to occasionally record the output of a computer rather than the camera feed that is normally recorded. The computer output is set to 1024 x 768 to match the projectors, so I needed a device that could at least handle that resolution. I also didn't want to spend too much money because this would only be needed occasionally and we don't require studio quality recordings. This device was easy to hook up and the output is very acceptable for an item at this price point. The unit has menu buttons that allow you to adjust the output of the device if needed and that works quite well.Overall, I'm very happy with the way this item works, especially considering the price I paid. If you are considering this item, just remember to make sure the specifications indicate that it is capable of doing what you need it to do.

This unit works well, but clarity of pictures on TV are difficult to make as clear as on the laptop monitor. Set-up video made the process of connecting my laptop to a TV, very easy.

SW-22050 ReviewFirst I'd like to start by saying I ordered this believing that it had a S-Video output since that is stated in the product information/description a couple times [b]"Output VGA\ VIDEO\ S-VIDEO signal at the same resolution"[/b] and [b]"this converter also comes with an S-Video cable if you prefer that port"[/b]. Though I blame myself for not looking more carefully at the pictures I was disappointed when the product came and I saw that it had no S-Video output. I've also just noticed that the reviews for the SW-22050 and the SW-23000 share the same reviews page so maybe the sellers put the wrong item description for the SW-22050 or maybe there's something I'm not getting?But since I have the SW-22050 already and I was more than impressed with it, I decided to keep it and forget about the S-Video that comes with the SW-23000. I also don't want to deal with refunding and waiting for another one to be shipped to me. I am using it on my Sony KV-27FV300 Trinitron and I was impressed by the output. Text was not legible at high resolutions but after changing some font settings on my PC and the resolution to 800x600, reading text was not a problem. Though I'm not using this for reading but strictly for watching movies, so being able to read text isn't very important to me. My one issue with the product is this buzzing noise that comes out of my TV's speakers when I use the composite (red/white) audio cables. I managed to reduce the buzzing after changing certain audio settings on my TV such as reducing bass,treble,WOW, BBE. So it's not a major issue but annoying enough to not want to hear it while watching movies. Though I have to say the video quality is excellent and much better than I had expected, I'd say even better than my LG LCD monitor. I would give the SW-22050 4/5 stars, not 5 stars because of the buzzing noise that comes out of my TV.I was going to get a refund and order the Sewell Direct SW-23000 instead just because I prefer S-Video, which I thought was included with the SW-22050. But since I was more than satisfied with the SW-22050 I decided to keep it.

I have bought this product for my kids. I needed something that would connect the ps3 (red & white) sound to her mini speakers. I was able to connect the yellow cable to her monitor. I had bought something almost similar just prior to the Sewell Direct SW-22050 product only with HDMI "support". The sound with the HDMI box from a different brand was less than acceptable ! You can just imagine the disappointment of my kid...? Just heart wrenching...!The Sewell Direct SW-22050 box has a clear audio with no buzzing noise. I have checked the VGA option to the box and it works too. I just kept the yellow cable direct setup on mine because I didn't want too much stuff on the desk on my child. (VGA switch and all the cables that take space and looks messy).Thank you for this awesome product. ♥You have helped giving back happy smiles. ♥I will buy again from this merchant.

So it looks like the reviews of bad picture quality is true.im not sure if CRT tube style tvs may have a better result but the LCD modern tvs are a NO GO for this device.its super blurry to a point you cant even distinguish the letters under a icon,hell even the icons are blurry lol.i was still willing to live with that,but the deal breaker was the color quality looking washed out.i understand this device is not meant to give you hd but for god sake i mean at least give me a display i can be able to read without breaking out my steve urkel glasses lol.adjusting the resoultion to 800×600 helps just a little but still not even close to being acceptable.the price is great and so is the idea but horrible execution.and im quite UPSET at Amazon deciding to ship the device a day before the last delivery day just because i picked free shipping,which came back to bite them in the butt cause i didn't recieve it on time.i order the device on sept 3 and received it on sept 15.i wouldn't have really cared about the shipping lenth if the device was worth the wait,but since it wasn't im extra salty.
