Lost a star for being bland, the bacon provides all the flavor, but easily can be pushed to good. Before you dump in the hot water add salt at the very least so it cooks with the salt. Pepper and other spices to taste are also a good idea. A little butter if you've got it. MSG FTW. Sides like toast help a lot too. If you don't have anything to give it some flavor it is still perfectly edible just not delightful. The water needs to be boiling hot or you'll not get complete reconstituted eggs and they'll have crunchy bits in the middle. Don't bother to pour the water into a measuring cup as you'll loose too much heat in the transfer. Just eyeball it on the high side. You pour off the excess anyway so no big deal if you add too much. I'd say the water given in the instructions is the minimum. Unlike most "serving sizes" claimed by many companies the servings are about right. It's measured out at a cup per serving and that's before you add water. It's a decent size meal in itself and if you can add a beverage and toast or an acorn mash pancake to the meal you'll be well fed. You could easily get by with a half a cup for a meal without stomach grumbling if you aren't burning that many calories, and then you can double the servings per can.

I’m sure it’s a good product. Took one star off for the fact that the picture is of a different product, and you had to dig to find out that there are only 9 servings in a #10 can. Makes this pretty pricey!

Purchased this for a recent hunting trip, taste was good, texture was good, and it was easy to make. I would advise a little "trial and error" use prior to any need to ensure you can get the mixture to the consistency YOU like. Following the instructions gets you close, we needed to add a little more water as the initial mixture was slightly 'pasty', but edible. I would recommend it for field use or emergency needs.

The can arrived bent, damaged, I had not been well and could not go to location to return the item

Thought i would try this after i ran out of eggs to see how it taste. Never bought the big cans before. First the taste is pretty bland (no wonder the military put condiments on their mre's, at least back in the day.) All the bacon settles to the bottom, something i didnt think of. So if your a single person, or even a couple, if you open the can make sure your going to be eating it for breakfast for several days. After opening the can its only good for so many days. If you have a family of 5 at least this would work better. Ok if your going hungry, which is what these are for, emergencies. Oatmeal might have more flavor though. I haven't tried any of the other products (#10 cans or single serve pouches) yet. Probably won't because i have a feeling they will be needed later this year. Gave it a 3 for taste mostly, and the need to use it so quickly.
