Beware - False alarms frequently
I purchased 3 of the smoke/co2/air quality alarms, they were easy to install and setup. I thought the air quality alerts and co2 were pretty nifty. That's where the good stops.Within the first month we had a false alarm on one at 2am, the kids were crying and no one went back to sleep.Weeks later we got a 2nd false alarm, we were on vacation. I was stressed the rest of vacation about my house alarming when no one was there.I called Kidde who noted "false alarms happen" and specifically during storms and high humidity. I un-installed all 3 and am returning to Amazon, Kidde was no help. They advised to blow them out, but they false alarmed within weeks of install already, blowing them out already as a step is ridiculous. Of the 3 units, 2 of them triggered a false alarm, its not as if I had 1 defective unit. Will not buy Kidde again.

Easy and useful
This device was really easy to connect, both in terms of wiring it to the wall (I did need to do some simple wire splicing because my old smoke detector was not the same plug but had the same 3 wires) and in connecting the app.The app itself is a little weird: it has my overall home health rated at orange (warning-level) safety rather than green, just because the temperature is slightly hot on the ceiling -- around 79 degrees F in the summer. I think that's probably a pretty normal temperature but OK app. I wish you could adjust this, or that it was less restrictive: 90 degrees, ok yeah that's a problem, but not 79.The air quality indicator seems cool, I can't tell about its accuracy yet though but the number does fluctuate and it seems to be measuring stuff. It's always been in the green range which is expected, but will be interested to see how it reacts if there is excessive pollutants at some point in the future. One minor complaint: at the price point I'd love it if this unit looked a little sleeker: more elegant and modern, rather than looking like a child's Alexa or something. It doesn't look BAD, but it doesn't look good either. Which...fine, for a smoke detector it's not worth deducting a star here, but there is room for improvement. I find the non-smart Kidde detectors to be more visually appealing than this one.

Subscribe for the indoor air quality monitor.
The installation process went smoothly for me. I purchased the adapters for the older Kidde house wiring. I removed the old unit, took off the old mounting ring, and reversed the process to install the new one. The QR code directed me to the app, and I completed my entire house installation within a couple of hours. The phone software is functional and flexible enough to organize things. When attempting to use the Indoor Air Quality feature, they require an "upgrade plan" for which there is an additional charge that I have not yet opted for. Aside from that, I have not experienced any issues with them.

Seems to have been a good choice.
I put these in my southern winter home for a couple reasons.First the previous detectors had reached their end of life alarms.Second to be able to monitor from afar in the off season.Third I've never had tVOCs before.I've seen reviews saying that the tVOC reading is bogus, but I beleive this reading is accurate enough, but varies a lot durring the day. So far I haven't seen any information that says short term exposure to higher numbers is as truely bad. I see a bad rating when cooking with doors and windows closed for example and after our unit was closed up for a few months, but all returned to good after a while.

Engineering failure with mounting brackets & Alexa integration
The detectors in the alarm work well. The challenges and the reasons why I will be returning the product are:You cannot mount the alarm properly if you have a narrow electric box.A portion of the alarm's body protrudes through the round opening in the mounting bracket. Therefore, the electrical box behind the mounting plate needs to be at least as wide as the opening in the mounting bracket, or you will not be able to screw the unit to the plate. My electrical box width is 1 3/4, and it took me a little while to figure out why I couldn't attach the smoke detector to the plate. In the attached photos, you can see the marking from the edges of the box as I tried to screw it in.Smart integration with Alexa is worthless. The only statistic Alexa gets from Kidde is the status of the alarm. The unit measures the humidity, temperature, and air quality. None of those metrics are available through Alexa skill. I can only request the status of the alarm, and I would know if it is in alarm since it would be blaring :)Nit picking:The app has metrics for Good - Moderate - Bad - Very Bad values for temperature, humidity, and air quality. The prescribed definition of "good" vs. "bad" is static and nonadjustable.A small thing for Kidde developers: Your metrics description is Rh > 70 = "Bad", your actual math formula is Rh >= 70 = "Bad"From a customer focused view, given all the deficiencies above, this product is not worth $98
