PILOT Namiki IC50 Fountain Pen Ink Cartridges, Sepia, 6-Pack (69006)

Don't let the pale tan-brown color dot in the product image fool you, this isn't "crayola" sepia-brown as some ink noobs may be expecting, but a superb rendition of true Cuttlefish Sepia ink color tone. The somewhat metallic brown with a purple-red undertone is indeed correct for sepia ink. Actually, as my wife said, it looks like dried blood. Spot on. Depending on the light and paper, this can look brown, dark copper, burgundy, or almost black. This is a great color, very smooth flowing and skip-free. It's nice in any standard nib and really comes into its own with a stub or soft nib where some subtle shading kicks in. This is my general-purpose ink, dark and classy enough for professional use but distinctive enough to catch the eye. I like to keep some on hand and in my work pens as it's impractical to bring an ink bottle to meetings and such, but a cartridge can be discreetly swapped when needed. Be aware when you rinse this it will run a dark red and any paper towels you blot your nib on will soak up a terrifying "wound-bandage red" so be sure to alert your family or they may think a terrible accident has occurred :-) There are other similar bottled Sepias out there but this is great ink, awesome color, convenient cartridges. And if you need true browns, look at some of the Pilot Iroshizuku inks, they are top of the line and there are some nice true browns available.

Pilot makes great pens, and great ink. Works well in my Metropolitan fine tip.

I got these because I’m in an art group on Facebook and we were doing a month long series of drawing with fountain pen and then taking a water brush to use move the ink around to paint them. Someone had the PRETTIEST color of pink I’ve ever seen. I asked her what it was and it was this sepia. Interesting that this sepia turns pink when water activated. I love it!

I honestly love this sepia color so far. I tried it in my fine nib Pilot Vanishing Point and in the Jinhao fine pt version on TN Tomoe River Paper and the cream Wanderings graph paper. It's so lovely. I had read some people thought this ink, at least from the cartridges, wasn't very lightfast and faded quickly. It's been a week and the color is holding up. I compared it with my recent experience with deAtrementes Urban Sepia. Also a pretty sepia, but I definitely noted color fading after less than a week. But with all the sepia inks, maybe a little fading is exactly what you're looking for the ink to do.

I love the color, it seems to "soften" my writing. Also, it writes smoothly and comes up clearly on whatever paper I've used.

Lo uso para mi pilot y funciona muy bien, plug and play prácticamente. Buen color, y buena dispersion de tinta, pinta muy bien y funciona muy bien.

Me gustaron mucho, solo que el cartucho fue un poco más grande pero lo solucione cortando la parte sobrante.

À ma grande surprise, l'encre n'est pas sépia, mais plutôt une sorte de rouge bordeau. J'y trouverai bien un usage même si la couleur ne correspond pas à mes attentes. J'ai quand même six cartouches à écouler. Pour le reste, le produit est en bon état et la cartouche s'installe facilement sur la plume Kaküno de Pilot.

Soy fanatico de la plumas fuente, la marca es muy buena, y estos repuestos de lo mejor en el mercado.
