Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash (Light Novel) Vol. 5

Easy to follow

Thought there would be more doom and gloom. Glad this one was more about exploration. Somehow this series triggers a lot anxiety, maybe because haruhiro is a little too relatable. The Book itself came in great condition. No major damage on the book, besides that weird black dot sellers put on the top and of course yellowing of pages. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

So maybe you think after the volumes before this that, "things are kind of stagnant right?" I mean sure they are getting stronger and finding their way, not to mention that all the details of their daily lives are maybe more lost here than the first volume for example which even featured scenes of them just looking for food to eat and thinking about how to spend their money. I enjoyed that quite a bit and maybe to much but now it has gotten to the point where the main focus if the novel is action over daily life. I don't mind it per se but the thing that made this novel series so unique to begin with was the attention to detail of daily life. This book is of course mostly senseless monologue and ridiculous dialogue which can get old after a while but the plot keeps me going as of now.

Haruhiro and his party discover a strange hole that wasn't there three days ago when they previously explored in the caves of Wonder Hole. While the party is coming to a decision about what to do with thier new found discover, another party comes along. This Volume is the adventures of what took place while exploring uncharted territory in Wonder Hole while working along side another group.

the story moves forward with are heroes still trying find themselves, this felt like a mini arc almost a self contained story. were they try team up with a new team to explore a new area, the get to observe their conflicting points of view an learn what make them who they are. if you made it this far it worth reading this as the story goes on.

👌 For 6 dollars, you get entertainment. Instead of buying Starbucks, why not buy this? The same price and you get value.

This was an interesting read. I was great to see Haru understand his position as leader. The gang parties with another team and we get to see how Haru is truly a capable leader. I wish that we would have gotten to see a more of Mary and Kuzaku in this book.

I liked this book as it shows I enjoyed this volume of Grimgar as it does something that you didn't get until volume 3, and that was interaction with another group. While ranta has been quite an annoying character in all of the volumes he is a little less obnoxious in this volume (don't worry, there will always be a character thats hated). If i had to give character development it would go to Haru and his party as a whole, as in this volume we see the difference between two different styles of leaders and parties, and how much risk/reward comes with each type. Somehow Ao manages to make the feel of tension slower in this volume compared to the end of volume 4 this is partly due to the party's growth. The author took an interesting twist on what was discovered, and the trials needed to get through this adventure. The weakest part of the book was the very end. For me to go any further in depth will cause me to talk about spoilers, so if you were wondering i liked this book more than volume 4, and it comes second to volume 3 (volume 3 was a beast).

It was fun meeting team tokki and their personalities, dang haruhiro broke his cervicals and didn't know what it was. Well described 9/10 would read again. Loved mimorin.

Quanto a Light Novel, achei que nesse volume teve boas surpresas para quebrar um pouco o ritmo de antes, além do mais teve uma pitada leve de romance e interação direta com outro grupo. Para complementar, teve a inclusão de uma nova ambientação para a aventura.

A nice injection of colour from some new characters is refreshing.
