Why did you pick this product vs others?: Smells good

I got Reyane Tradition Acqua Di Parisis Amber and Amber because it has been reviewed to be a good dupe for a certain Burberry EDP. Phew was this a mistake! Along with the notes of vanilla, patchouli and caramel is a harsh note of bunt rubber. I thought my space heater was touching something and starting a fire! But no, it was my new perfume. I sprayed the first few sprays out into the trash as is normally done to get rid of any stale or expired juice trapped in the tube of the sprayer. Waited a bit for the temperature to normalize after shipping. But the burned rubber smell persists. It’s such a shame because hiding behind the terrible burned smell are some lovely notes that do smell like the official description. Does anyone know why this happens? Is it a quality of ingredients issue? Is it something that happens to spoil the perfume after it has been bottled? It took multiple washes all afternoon to scrub off the smell. Total scrubber. This was surprising because I’ve had good luck with other perfumes from their Acqua Di Parisis line. I don’t know if my specific bottle spoiled before I received it or if this is a bad batch or what exactly caused this. I’ve read of other perfumes of low quality sometimes having this burned rubber chemical smell but was surprised to find it in Amber and Amber because it had such good reviews. It’s so bad I cannot even use it for a bathroom spray. Total waste of money and a disappointment. Not every blind buy can be a winner but this was a total loser. Caveat emptor
