Great equipment, worth the price!
I bought the Allegro 2 as a way to transition out of Pilates classes. I originally looked at buying cheaper equipment but couldn't find anything that had enough features. My options were to buy multiple inexpensive items or invest in a fully functional reformer/tower/mat combo unit. I'm really pleased that we decided to invest. The equipment is sturdy and classroom quality. It was easy enough to put together, especially with the video that Balanced Body provided. I've been using Peak equip in class and it's been a simple transition to the Allegro 2. There are a few differences but the videos they provide help you get familiar with the features. I'm really pleased with the additional features that the A2 provides and am having fun building new routines. Speaking of their videos. My package included 2 videos (for mat/tower and for reformer, since I bought a reformer/tower combo) plus we found the Balanced Body channel on YouTube. Jackpot! There are not only short vids for folks who want to exercise, there are also vids for teachers. These are really helpful because they go into more detail on the mechanics of the workout and the equipment. For those who want to understand the whys of Pilates movement, these are a huge benefit. Pilates equipment (and classes) are not cheap but I've found them to be invaluable in staying healthy and strong as I age. I'm a Pilates fan and willing to invest; I'm really happy I invested in the Allegro 2. During the purchasing/shipping process, I've spoken with Balanced Body several times and found them to be informative and friendly. The whole experience has been great; when I need more equipment, I'll definitely buy from them.

Amazing quality reformer! So quiet!
I read a ton of reviews and articles before taking the plunge on this reformer, because I’d never seen one in person. I know these are expensive and you might be worried about how it measures up to the studio reformers you’ve used, so let me set your mind at ease: this thing is amazing. I’ve used the wood-framed balanced body reformers in studios for years, and this is much quieter than those, and maybe even sturdier. The powder coated frame is a beautiful bright white. The vinyl parts are dark charcoal gray, not too shiny. Overall it looks like something Apple or Tesla would design. The carriage return is super smooth and quiet, and the soft rope strap connectors are ingenious. You could use this near a napping baby. Definitely get the optional legs to put it at a more usable height. It’s heavy - I wouldn’t want to move it often. My only complaint is that the way you hook the straps onto the carriage when not in use is fiddly. The pegs are turned sideways under the carriage, and I find them difficult to use, so I usually loop the straps over the shoulder rest. That’s the only flaw I can find with this reformer. The way the foot bar adjusts and slides up and down the reformer is really cool. Assembly is tricky — if you aren’t handy, find someone to help you, and watch the installation videos ahead of time. The videos are much clearer than the written instructions. Once it’s assembled, you never have to do it again! Finally, I’d like to note that this isn’t as wide or bulky as the wood reformers are. It’s long and narrow, and doesn’t take up as much space as I expected. If you think you don’t have enough space for a reformer, take some measurements and get creative. I’d rather have a reformer In my bedroom than a dresser full of clothes I don’t wear. :)

Uncomfortable but well built
I purchased through BB so that I could customize the color (so not verified thru Amazon). There are tons of great things about this reformer with one maaajor drawback. The reformer is quiet, beautiful, has smooth movements and highly is adaptable thanks to the two-peg system for the springs and the Infinity foot bar. It’s adjustable for different heights, and the yellow spring (along with 1 blue and 3 red) makes it even more adaptable for different ability levels. The major downside is the mat on the carriage. It’s hard and uncomfortable. Compared to the Rialto and original Allegro, the Allegro 2 mat is basically plywood with the world’s thinnest layer of cushion on top. If you have worked with the other reformers, know this is nothing like them. It seems like a downgrade even though the price is still sky high. Overall the quality is good and I’m sure the reformer will last a good, long time. I just wish it was more comfortable on the joints.
