This book is a great choice for UPSC aspirants because it explains complex sociological concepts in a clear and concise way. Even if you don't have a background in sociology, you'll be able to grasp the material effectively.

The media could not be loaded. This book serves the purpose:1. It has content for both the papers at one place.2. Proper tables, charts, etc. used which we can directly use in exam.3. I feel it has sufficient material for exams and also includes PYQs from the specific topics/chapters4. It is not boring when it comes to appearance and is vibrant.P.S.- A small correction on Page 216- The Harmonic & Disharmonic System concept was not given by Gerhard Lenski but by Andre Beteille.

Very good book and a must for upsc if you are preparing by yourself.

Its good book for making a base as bcoz language is lucid, makes a sound understanding of the subject but not a apt material to have a deep understanding,as it tries to quickly finish the lesson in qna method,as socio is evolving more and becoming dynamic & price is exorbitant high & bulky too, rest all is good😊
