This hatchet is great. It has a good heft to it, and the blade feels very sturdy. It’s sharp out of the box which is nice. Personally I also like the look of it and the leather holster is a nice bonus. Overall great value hatchet for my yard work.

Hatchet head comes with a hammered finish. The blade edge is polished to a mirror shine but is NOT sharp. It did come with a nice size stone to sharpen the blade with. After spending about an hour sharpening with the provided stone I was able to get it sharp enough to shave with. Then I split a good sized pile of red oak. The blade was still sharp enough to cut through a piece of paper all the way through in slices. I’d say it’s really good, hard metal and will hold its edge for a long time. I’m happy with purchase. If you want a hatchet for splitting all your wood… get a bigger axe. But if you just want something for camping or for kindling this is for you.

Worked very well on our camping trip, top part of the blade slightly rolled a bit however. This doesn't matter as it was the user who caused it, which is me, and I accept total responsibility for the slight damage. Sheath on the other hand is incredibly cheap, and had a button loose on the belt sling. Which is not too big of an issue for me because i do not wear it on my belt, but it still doesn't inspire my faith for how long the rest of it will last. Aside from the complains, the handle is very comfortable and the metal is very well finished and quite nice looking. I also used this hatchet as a hammer to jam steaks down into relatively rocky earth, which it was excellent at. For the price, you cant complain too much, and I would recommend these hatchets to anyone who doesn't want to break the bank for a useful tool.

I have taken this camping twice now and used it like a hatchet should be used.It has held up as well as my 40yr old craftsman hatchet had.Stays sharp enough to cut rope or debark wood after a full day of chopping.

My last hatchet that I purchased 10 years ago, finally broke. I decided to try this one vs going back to the hardware store. This has a great blade and easy to sharpen. The weight is just right for around the yard or campsite. I don’t wear the holster, but the leather fits its well, to contain the sharp edges, something I didn’t have in my last one. Ladies will love it too

Great throwing axe. They are balanced well and easy to use.

I shouldn’t have to spend a hour grinding and honing a new ace .
