I got the container to keep my sons lunch hot. I did a try out and after 9 hrs the food was warm. I only need it for 6. My son says his food is hot at lunch time. It easy to clean. Very durable. He loves the color. The spoon and extra tote is handy. Great value.

Ordered this SANTECO 17 oz Insulated Food Jar with Spoon & Bag for my daughter for Christmas. She is in 5th grade and has been asking for a thermos. This item arrived promptly and in a branded box with instructions a tag and plastic wrapping. They certainly went the extra mile on those aspects, which seem to indicate a different level of quality from products that ship in shrink wrap only. The container looks beautiful and is indeed leakproof. There was a thin walled black bag included with reflective material on the inside walls. I think that bag should have been twice as thick. My biggest issue with the item is that the depth of the wall is probably only 1/4 inch thick with the 1/8 inch steel on either side. This product will not keep things warm as long as one that sacrifices some volume for insulation. This product leans to the side of volume. I struggled going between 4 and 5 stars on this one. It exceeds expectations in the context of a lunch bottle that keeps food warm for a shortish period of time.

So this little container does it's job, it will keep your lunch hot till lunch time, but that's about it. If you don't get lunch until late one day, the food will only be slightly warm. It actually works a lot better at keeping things cold. It will keep beer cold and drinkable for about 12 hours and it will keep ice with no liquid even longer, hence my comment about it being an ice bucket. I drink beer from a miniature mason jar, about 6 oz. So when I fill my glass, I fill the container too, and only have to make one in three trips to the fridge for more beer. And if I'm drinking the good stuff and need ice, it will hold ice without loss for a long time. So it is definitely useful in my workshop, computer workstation, my truck...no no wait, I'm just kidding, don't drink and drive, that's just a real knucklehead idea and it's not just your life that's in danger, so don't do it. Ok so that's my public service announcement, thank you very much. But hey really, I solidly, like my ice, recommend this container for keeping things cold for awhile. If you're working double shifts at the factory though you're food won't be hot for that break between shifts, 8 hours of piping hot meal staying hot ain't gonna work, 4 hours max for a hot lunch. As for the price of this little ice bucket, well it's saving me time every time I use it, it's actually becoming priceless to me. So I'm quite happy with my little ice bucket, inebriated even. I love the army green color and it holds a lot despite how it looks. I believe it's a 12 oz but I might be wrong about that. My husband uses this everyday to keep his lunch hot and it stays hot for hours even when he leaves it in the cold car. It came with an insulated bag which is really great because it has a handle and a pocket on the outside where I can keep the spoon and napkin for him. I washed this daily and it is staying together pretty well! There is a rubber piece on the inside that is easy to pop off and wash when food gets stuck underneath it and just wash in general because you don't want mold or mildew or bacterial growth. I have now owned a few of these thermoses and so far this is the one I like the most. It actually came with a folding spoon which was really cool! I'm currently putting together a survival bag for emergencies and I think that I would definitely add something like this into it just because it's so convenient and definitely does its job.

I needed more insulated food jars like this for packing lunches for the kids. My kiddo in high school said his rice was still warm at lunch. Lunch is at 1pm and this was packed at 7:30am so the heat retention is pretty good. The small lunch bag that comes with it is really a nice addition for keeping the thermos insulated. I can see myself taking this little bag to the beach to keep my lunch nice and cool without having to lug a big lunch bag. This set also comes with a spoon tucked into the front pocket of the bag. The spoon folds into a compact portable size. Overall, I'm very happy with this insulated food jar set. It does what it says and is nice for taking food on the go.

I was very very pleased with this thermos, it is pretty incredible! It is small but really great at insulating foods and is 100% leakproof. I've taken soup and ramen noodles with me for lunch in this and they stayed nice and hot with no spills. I made ramen one night before work in this and put it into the fridge. When I pulled it out the next morning, the noodles inside were still lukewarm. I also liked the little spoon it came with, it folds up nice and compactly and is made of stainless steel rather than flimsy plastic so it feels more durable. The case is also pretty thoughtful, however, I find that I personally don't get much use out of it since the thermos goes into my lunch box directly. Very great find, highly recommend!
