Saint-Malo Murder (Sandrine Perrot - The Brittany Mystery Series) Paperback – 4 Dec. 2023

I loved the intrigue and the twists and turns of this story well told and a most enjoyable read. Set in a beautiful part of Brittany, described so well by the author that I could picture the places I had visited as a teenager, having special memories of the time I spent Dinard and on the Plage L'Ecluse. This added to the richness of the story I was pulled into and one I didn't want to end.

I nearly gave up on this early on but I'm glad I stuck with it. The plot is good although the murders themselves are a bit too elaborate and far fetched. The characters are plausible although I was confused by the ranks in the French police force. My only complaint is that the translation from French to English is very clunky. I am not complaining about the fact that it has been translated into American English as we are all used to that. Some expressions are just not right, for example, if you want something done right, do it on your own. This was not the only example. The text should be proofread by a native speaker

Loved all the characters and French setting
