Home speech therapy
We've been using these for less than a month and my daughter's speech has improved so dramatically that other people can understand her as well. It is so awesome to see her confidence blossom as she can better express herself. Her behavior has improved as she is not as frustrated all the time. It's like a whole different child. They are expensive, yes, but I was desperate. I am so glad I invested in these. We're not even done with the S and the R yet. I am so excited to move on to the others. She will be ready to start school in January, I have no doubt. Really wish they made these for other languages, like for the french R.

Totally buy this if your child needs help with their speech
We have had these for a week. My son has severe phonological delay. He is 4 and has been in intensive speech 4 times per week for the last year. He could not pronounce any of these sounds. I almost cried when, upon the first time we tried, he got all 5 sounds right. Of course, it will take some time to retrain the brain and mouth to make the sounds and then for him to do it on his own in everyday speaking. But I feel we are well on our way to expedited progress with these tools. Plus, he likes using them and has asked me to practice with them. At this rate, I am hoping he will have these sounds down very soon. It is expensive. But having your child get the right speech sounds is priceless and well worth the price. I will update this review in a few months and see what kind of progress we have. I sure wish they would come up with a tool for all of the letter.

Too much money for the information provided.
I have had these tools for 3 days and I haven't be able to learn how to properly use them. The instructions that come with it do not provide enough information of how to use them. I don't know if I need to place the tongue at the tip on the tool before or after making the sound, or when I have to try the sound, if it is while I try to place my tongue next to the tool or after. The website just provide very basic explanation of it. I might be returning this in a few days. It is too much money to spend in something that doesn't work.

So simple, it's brilliant
My daughter has motor challenges including speech. She has had therapy since she was 3 with little effect. She's now 9 and we've been using the R and L speech buddy for a month now. She's made more improvement in the past month at home than with 6 years of professional therapy. She still struggles, but having a placement target in her mouth helps her know exactly when she's got it right. Thank you for a wonderful product. It seems expensive, but I think when we're completely done, it will cost less than the number of therapy sessions it would have taken to accomplish the same results. Oh, and she loves using it!

Buy these if your child needs help.
Oh my GOSH!! These are amazing! Words can not even come close to expressing how happy we are that we bought these. So easy to use and work so fast. My son who was not able to get any of these sounds and was able to do it the first time we used them. After one week he was able to make all the sounds without the buddies and is still doing it. It has made him feel 100% better about talking to people. He doesn't even sound like he ever had a problem and he works hard now all my himself to do the sounds every time he talks. Just truly amazing!!! We did the speech therapy and with no luck at all and these did what they couldn't do.Best $300.00 we ever spent. He is 8 yrs old.

Great tools but expensive.
These tools are excellent for articulation and accent modification clients. I have a Japanese client that was able to differentiate the R and L sounds easily with the Speech Buddies. The downside is the cost. They can be sterilized and reused but I don't feel totally comfortable with that.

I am a speech therapist & so thankful for these tools. R is such a challenging sound for my kiddos & especially because it's a sound that's difficult to provide a visual model. Sometimes explaining isn't enough! This is the perfect tactile cue so they can feel exactly where and what their tongue should be doing. The speech tools website provides a free booklet to follow. It's important to move slowly from isolation to consonant vowel/vowel-consonant to word (initial, medial, final) to phrase level to sentences to reading and finally to conversation. A kiddo should be about 80% at each level before moving on. This will take time, but it DOES work. I've had children never produce an /r/ and this made them stimulable after a couple of uses. Highly recommend this (and have been to all my speech therapist friends!) :)

These are great in helping my child learn where to place his to tongue for each sound. After working with him for a month with these we had a speech evaluation. It was obvious that he is learning how to say the sounds correctly thanks to knowing where to put his tongue. I would recommend these. However as the parent you do need to work with your child. It won't work to just hand it to them, it is hard at first for them to get use to the tongue change.
