BEST FOR POST-OP ICING!
If you are looking for an ice machine to help you or a loved one get through post operation icing, this is the ice maker you want.We found it reliably made enough ice so the cooling wrap (the thing that circulates ice water) could run 24-7, with breaks only to unwrap and do PT, at-home PT, bathroom breaks etc. This greatly reduced the amount of opiates taken for pain (compared to the “20 on 20 off, several times a day” recommended on the post op care handout). As others have mentioned, it is quiet, fast, and not too heavy or big. We ran it during the morning when getting set for the day (breakfast, feeding animals, getting set up in the living room with books, tv, etc) so a fresh batch of ice was ready to fill the cooling wrap machine. Any extra ice through the morning we threw in the freezer bin, then shut off the machine until late afternoon to make more ice when switching out the melted stuff in the cooling wrap’s ice/water container.Repeated this one more time right before bedtime so the wrap could cool through the night, again adding extra ice to the freezer to get a “head start” on the batch needed for the next day.So far the machine has served us well through two full knee replacements, which meant running the machine at this pace for a full month each time. We are cycling this little workhorse through the family (we’re all aging athletes so there are multiple hip and knee replacements coming up).

Makes ice
Great personal ice maker, purchased this for a pole barn “cabin” where we only have a mini fridge with a freezer compartment the size of an egg carton, just not as long.Pros:Makes ice fairly quickly. The controls are easy to read and the low water indicator is great so you don’t have to keep checking.Compact, easy to store, nice design.Ice basket comes out, making the scooper just an added item that most probably wouldn’t use, but nice to have in times you would.I have only used the large size ice maker, I would use small if I intended to crush the ice or make a blended beverage. There is a drain plug on the bottom, no need to tip the entire bucket over.Cons:It take up to two cycles for the ice to make the correct size (large). The handle is flimsy and would not depend on using it to carry the machine anywhere.Suggestions:Use filtered or bottle water, not tap.Start making ice about 30 minutes before intending to use, keep the machine going.Use an insult aged ice bucket to keep ice, or place in a freezer or cooler. * The ice maker does not keep the ice, if you want that you will need to pay a much higher price point.Let the maker cycle through at least 2 times to get the expected size cube. When finished making ice, drain well and dry the inside of the ice/water well, to prevent mold/mildew.Keep in mind this is a portable ice maker, not an industrial ice maker. It does the job very well at a decent price point. I would highly recommend.

Works great
Icemaker works great for price. Does not keep ice cold, so need to move ice from icemaker to freezer periodically. Makes ice pretty fast. I do wish it had a chime or something to alert you when it is out of water or the ice tray is full.

So far so good
It's brand new for us but so far so good. We had a Frigidaire countertop ice machine that only lasted two years with regular cleaning. Hope this does better. With these machines you need to realize that they're meant to be emptied into a container in your freezer soon. I don't know how well this keeps ice frozen if you use it as portable because that's not how we use it but the cubes will be wet, not bone dry in the basket so expect that. This machine isn't overly noisy but we've been listening to a deteriorating machine for awhile so in comparison, this is pretty quiet. The basket is plastic and if you have hard water, it will get gunky along with the rest of the machine so regular cleaning is important along with using filtered or great quality water. Before first use we ran a cleaning cycle and one cycle of ice. It's relatively fast and does what it says. Longevity will be the key but maybe these machines in general aren't expected to last years. Time will tell.Update: still working well. Upped the cleaning to each week with an ice cleaner solution you can find on here. Also when you go to drain it, the plug has two pieces. We pulled the plug and it didn't drain. You have to push down from the inside to remove the extra plug piece. Looks like it's an added feature to ensure it doesn't leak and it doesn't.

Reliable ice machine
I bought this back in December of 2023. It works great. I usually end up making ice every other day. I haven’t had any problems. The marketing information was accurate about its performance, which is refreshing. I use a decent amount of ice and this fits my needs nicely. It makes some noise but it’s manageable.

Great ice maker
I’ve had this for almost 2 months now and it works great. We have an older fridge and the ice machine went out on it. Rather than replace the entire thing I wanted to try this. This has worked great, it’s quiet and fast. I can run 2 cycles and fill up the ice bucket for the freezer. We have kids and they go through a lot of ice. This has kept up with them and is a great alternative.

Excellent ice maker
Super efficient. Makes ice cubes fast and not a big footprint. Highly recommend and wish I had bought it sooner.

Easy to use
I like this icemaker because it’s so easy to use. The only thing I would have liked was for it to be able to keep the ice cold. The ice does melt pretty fast.
