I am pleased with the quality and construction of this mattress pad. The sides are a silky mesh that has elastic to hold this under the mattress and keep it in place. The top of the mattress is covered with the waterproof section that feels like fabric since the waterproofing has a covering that isn't plastic-y. This is a good cover to protect and looks to be very washable.
