I'm not a particular fan of Bela Lugosi, but I did enjoy seeing him in colour, and the Network print is pretty good so make sure you get this version (my review is for the Network version only although Amazon have posted it against other versions as well - ignore that, very naughty of them.) The low budget 'Natural' colour is rather pleasing in its old fashioned way, with an emphasis on turquoise blue and copper tones, which I found appealing if a little fuzzy. Bela Lugosi is suitably strange as an evil hypnotist and Molly Lamont does a convincing job as the woman recounting the story of her murder from the mortuary slab, a clever ploy to keep the viewer interested. However, I bought it for George Zucco, and he didn't let me down - a very skilled actor, with a wonderful voice. Sadly, the comedy aspect just didn't resonate with me, and at times I was in danger of being bored to death, although the main characters kept my interest alive. It's not at all scarey by modern standards, but has a fascination all of its own. The sound quality is fine but there are no subtitles, and the film is only 65 minutes long. The only extra is a trailer which is much scarier than the film itself. A must for collectors.

0ne star is too much but I don't want to use the word hate, I don't hate it
Absolutely awful, 0ne star is too much but I don't want to use the word hate, I don't hate it. It contains perhaps the worst "acting" I have ever seen from the Detective James Dunn?, not helped by the fact that Lugosi is only in it in short bursts. Awful.
