Perfect for Christmas Vacation Fans
Was looking for a train to go around my Christmas tree and the theme was a bonus. Easy to put together and the sound effects are spot on. The Griswold family would be proud.

Total Fan
I'm too crazy that you have to press the switch on the engine to "on" before the remote will work. Other than that, the tracks were easy to snap together. Very well packed. Impressed with the train. Exactly what I wanted. For the price, it would be nice if it used less batteries. I bought the batteries with the train purchase, so I had everything ready to go when it arrived. It arrived a day early. Been enjoying it ever since.

The media could not be loaded. I gave zero star for this POS. Amazon should stop selling this type of cheap product.Kid so happy for a train for holiday. When I opened the box and tried to power up, I realized I can not open the battery compartment. After 15 minutes of trying with different tools I realized unless I tear apart the entire train, I won't be able to get the screw out. See the video yourself.

Good quality
I don't get the cultural hype around this as I've never seen this movie, but objectively it's a pretty good quality train set. The remote is actually quite responsive and the engine is quite powerful -- it keeps going on carpet with full speed even if it derails from the tracks. The reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it seems to derail quite easily if you have the tracks built into a circle shape (which if youre putting this under a tree, is the logical shape). I can't seem to figure out why this keeps happening but just something to be mindful of especially if you're going at full speeds. Also the number of batteries it uses is a bit excessive in my opinion. 6 C batteries? Who even regularly has C batteries on hand, let alone 6 of them?? I can't speak to how long the batteries last/average use time but I would also suggest having backups on hand if you have kids and this dies on you during play. This product would be better if it had a rechargeable battery built in.

Love it!
It plays Christmas Vacation sound clips! What could be more fun. I had the North Pole train and I am able to use its cars with this set as well.
