What can I say apart from a very good film lots of action

You can easily see why the critics had such a hard time reviewing this film... The action is so over the top. But then this is EXACTLY why I wanted to purchase and watch this very film. The action is the best thing about it, as promised. This film will never be Jane Austen, it will never be Aliens...It is itself, a wry, knowing, tongue-in-cheek , non-stop-romp through the the ways to shoot and be shot, with, of course, a little humour.The plot works as a vehicle with which to hang the action on... What more do you want ? If I can watch Arnie, Sly and Segal batter people and blow them up with little acting skill yet become natural-born-artists when in a dodgy situation that involves killing and or lots of guns.The modern production values and camera angles provide a great deal of amusement and the idea that we enjoy not only the shooting but the choreographed nature of the killing brings great pleasure... If the final battles in Kill Bill bore you through repetetiveness then that does not happen here. Each killing zone is perfectly planned and different from the last; and also perfect in its method of killing.So to sum up... ever get the feeling hollywood films had lost the plot on violence ? Well here's the antidote..... Just sit back, watch and enjoy some of the crazyiest and most enjoyable shooting scenes ever committed to celluloid.

Despite this film being reknown for its weak plot, I have to say that the one thing you need to really enjoy this is a dark and twisted sense of humour. With that in mind its the perfect kind of thing to watch with a group of friends on a wet weekend night with a takeaway and a few beers <g> I didn't stop laughing at the inventive and impossible ways Clive Owen found to kill off his pursuers ... including those carrots!Once you accept that the whole premise of this film is that it's a mikey take on the various action genres (film and video games), then you're going to enjoy this gore-fest ... and that is exactly what it is (I gave up trying to keep a body-count after the first 5 minutes LOL).If you don't enjoy a good action film (whether that be something like Res' Evil, Kill Bill, or even Ong Bak), and shoot 'em up video games aren't your kind of thing either, then this film definately isn't for you, as it does a good job of mixing elements from all those too ... focusing on the more impossible elements, than the believable & realistic ...This film was never meant to be taken seriously IMO, but there are those who insist on doing just that and can't just have a laugh or an "Ewwwwwwwwww!" when Clive pulls off yet another impossible kill <g>

I am in total agreement with all 5 star givers here. This movie is simple perfect escapism. At no time does it attempt to be serious and whilst not a comedy either the action sequences are so utterly over-the-top, you can't help but laugh-----but in a good way.It is a billion times more far fetched than James Bond, Mission Impossible, Crank and any John Woo movie put together, it really is that silly.What the Clive Owen character conjures up within milli-seconds to escape a baddie or to shoot a baddie is mind blowingly spectacular.The plot is silly too and to be honest it doesn't really matter. There is also a very attractive prostitute who specialises in infantalism (a fetish where men pretend to be babies) which is a trifle odd, but nonetheless adds to the fun.If you are a woolly liberal type person who enjoys an arty-farty Czechoslovakian movie with subtitles whilst eating Bruschetta and some God awful vegan style cheese washed down with Raspberry flavoured Marxist tea, this is not the film for you!! However if you want an hour and half escape from the humdrum of working life and are not too bothered by intellectual stimulation then I can not recommend this movie enough.Enjoy!!!

Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, in that place where a deranged and confused film can become a huge fun. And it is funny, with a constantly angry and edgy Clive Owen and a script and direction that plays with action and vengeance like we ended up in a crazy rollercoaster. My favourite parts are when Clive gets mad at people, especially those who drive with arrogance and deserve to be punished...!It was my first blu ray ever bought, and it definitely impressed me in HD, due to the explosive photography, sound, editing and camera movements.

FILM - cracking tongue-in-cheek bullet fest that pays homage to the utterly preposterous Hong Kong shoot em ups of old. Owen and Giamatti are both clearly having an absolute hoot making the film. Lots of wisecracks, lots of guns, and lots, and lots, and lots of action - I don't think that there's an entire minute in one go that doesn't have an action scene in it through the whole movie. Buckle up and be prepared to be blown away!BLURAY - watched on a 32" 720p screen. Perfectly good quality, although the film isn't one that benefits enormously from the higher definition anyway; it's quite small in scale. The sound is super, using all the channels to great effect. My only complaint was that the often-bombastic score seems to be considerably quieter on the rear speakers than the front, actively placing it in the sound stage rather than making it feel ambient.If you've a BRD player, a nice sound system and a taste for overblown action movies, you really shouldn't miss this one.

Bien.Un poco pasado de revoluciones pero dinámico, divertido y hasta un poco tierno...Quizás el episodio final está un poco sobrecargado

９０分間、ガン打ちっ放しのとんでもないアクションムービーです。バッタバタ人が死にます。もちろん悪党が！！立ち向かうは、スミスと呼ばれる孤独のオオカミたった一人。そのガンさばきは実にカッコよく、観ていて痛快ですね。スカッとします。また、構成がよく練られ、極力無駄なシーンを排除して９０分以内にまとめてあるので、決して退屈することがありません。アッという間の９０分でした。冒頭、途中からじゃない？みたいな緊迫シーンから始まり、あれよあれよという間に、物語にのめり込んでしまいました。ガンアクションですが、決してシリアスになりすぎず、ユーモアが盛り込んである点もいい。イルミネーション文字でのお遊び的演出が笑えましたね。後半は、意表をつく空中戦まで飛び出し、最後のハーツを倒す演出も、その手があったか！！と驚いて、最後まで釘付け、見応えたっぷりでした。そして、主役の３人の個性が上手く引き出せている点が、成功の要因かと思います。クライヴ・オーウェンの表情、特に目の演技が素晴らしい。適役のポール・ジアマッティは、ユーモラスでサディステックな雰囲気が見事でした。そして、映画の華。今回はお色気女優モニカ・ベルッチ。Ｂ級映画にお約束のベッドシーンをカッコよく演じていました。やってる最中にも銃撃戦で、これでこそＢ級映画の醍醐味って感じです。ＤＶＤ特典映像では、カットシーンとしてモニカ・ベルッチのポロリ映像もファンサービスしてありますよ。また、メイキングでは、アクションシーンの赤ん坊は精巧な模型を使っていたことがわかります。タランティーノ作品を彷彿とさせる、Ｂ級な、しかしガンさばきはＡ級な傑作だと思います！！
