Caught 3 rats in 2 days
Pretty powerful traps. Caught 3 rats within the first 2 days, when bated with peanut butter.

Metalic parts RUST badly. Only suitable for one-to-two rat situations.
All metal parts on these traps are "copper-colored" but in truth, they rust very quickly once exposed to moisture. This is unsatisfactory since (as gross as it is) it is necessary to clean the trap between uses. Even mild soap and water results in the spring and trap components to rust and become pitted. Ordinarily, that might be tolerable but unfortunately, a critical part is made of plastic. Under the force of spring tension, the rough-rusted component causes excessive wear to the plastic part. The result of this is that the trap develops a hair-trip triggering. In one case, the trap could not be even set. These won't be usable for long. This brand use to be far better but over time, the quality has declined. Not recommended except one or two-rat situations. PS: I know this is a detailed review for such a simple item like a rat trap but as the old cliche "If you can build a better mouse trap..." is still an option.

They work
These traps work well and are well built. Use them to trap rats running around my yard. Have held up well and work fine after a year of use.

Does the job
Sturdy and good old fashioned rat traps. Work great with peanut butter to get rid of the pack rats trying to nest on my porch. Had the plastic ones and the plastic pieces broke off and they did not work well.

Be very, very careful. If you can get them set without getting hurt, they work fine.
The big yellow plastic tray makes it very difficult to set. I can't see the edge, have to go by feel of tension. Am waiting for the nail on my pinkie finger to fall off where it got slammed. First time in 8 years that has happened. I watched their video to see what the F and S meant, nothing on the packaging to give me a hint. I liked the original traps and hope I can still get them. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm very leery of these.
